Acerca de esta escucha

She says that everything I want is mine for the taking And yet everything I want keeps getting taken away from me and replaced with something else. I want to fight to hang onto the things I want, the dreams I've dreamed and the people I love, I do... but there's only so long I can hold onto something for before it turns to ash in my hands. In Book#7 of The Eden Chronicles, Beltane is in the air and so is the charge. Larkin believes that now that Karol has proven himself a decent man by saving her life, the next natural step is for them to become friends as well as allies, so she takes several steps towards mending the rift between them. Problem is though, the nicer she is to Karol, and the more she goes out of her way to make him feel welcome in Liberty City, the harder he pulls away. It's not that Karol doesn't want to be her friend though- he just doesn't know how to be friends with someone like her, especially now that every time she looks at him, it's with eyes full of gratitude, loneliness and possibly even... lust? Larkin is certain that things will settle down in Raphael once Beltane, and all of the celebrations that come with it are over, and she thinks that Karol will even feel more comfortable there after too, once all of the Satan-worshipping has faded back into the background of Raphaelian life, where it belongs. But fate has a lot more in store for them on Beltane's Eve than a fruitful summer harvest, and before Larkin knows it, the strange tension between her and Karol is the least of their problems.
