Through his exceptional leadership skills as President of Dow Medical College Students’ Union, Karachi and his unwavering dedication and commitment to the field of medicine, Uzair touched the lives of thousands. His passion for healing and his exceptional skills as a physician brought comfort and solace to those in need. Whether it was providing compassionate care to his patients or sharing his knowledge with aspiring medical professionals, Uzair's presence was a source of inspiration and hope.
His impact as a student leader in Karachi in the early 1980s is remembered fondly by all his colleagues, professors and others who he interacted with.
NY Medical College and Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Valhalla, NY established an annual "Kazi Uzair Award" in his honor in 1989 which is granted to the best resident in pediatrics. The "Kazi Uzair Award" holds great prestige within the institution and is considered a coveted honor. Each year, a deserving resident is recognized and bestowed with this esteemed award, symbolizing their excellence in the field. This serves as a constant reminder of his impact and serves as a source of inspiration for current and future medical professionals.
