I love all is Vanessa Vale’s books, have read them all and listened on audible as well. Ms Stewart does the different voices very well, but the narrative part is overwhelmingly monotone. Also, the pronunciation of some words are odd- Mercantile for example. Otherwise, great book.

A few confusing moments, for a couple of times the Narrator mixed the characters up. Outside of that and the similar scenes from previous books I've already heard, it was a good book.

Audible Premium Plus borrow. 4 POV. The Bridgewater Ménage Series, book 4 of 12. Listed as 3 hours 28 minutes; I listened at speed 1.50 for 2 hours 18 minutes. The narrator read well adopting 3 different accents (British, Scotish, and average American) but there were unnecessarily long pauses between chapters. I don't know if the book was poorly edited or if the narrator misread the name but Evers, the former military commander in the previous books, was called Evans twice in this audiobook then back to Evers toward the end. I liked this story more than the last 3. Trigger warnings: both Rhys and Olivia were orpaned; arson; 3 men and 1 woman marriage w/DP & bj; wooden @n@l toys; light spanking.

Olivia has been raised by her single uncle after her parents' death when she was young. Clayton Peters is interested in courting her but she doesn't feel the "lightning" her uncle advised her she would feel when she meets "the one" so she tries to let him down nicely. Clayton is not happy because he wants her uncles money and tries to strong arm her into continuing a relationship with him. Her uncle comes to Olivia's rescue and sends Clayton on his way. Later Olivia meets Cross and Rhys at a dance and her uncle approves of them. The night of the dance Clayton sets Olivia's uncle's home on fire and her uncle calls Cross, Rhys, and Simon to come help. It is quickly decided that it would be best if Olivia marries Simon and enters into a multiple husband arrangement with Cross and Rhys as well. Her uncle then reveals he is in a throuple himself. Olivia eventually realizes that she has always had abandonment issues but comes to accept that her 3 husbands love her and have no intention of leaving her. Clayton surprises Olivia while her husbands are away and tries to convenience her that he paid her men to marry her and do the things they had done ruining her. Olivia runs to the barn and sets off on a horse to find them but gets lost. Just a she's given up hope of finding her way they find her and their reunion leads them to revealing their secrets and the 4 of them becoming one. Robert, Ann, and Andrew's son is 8 months old and Kane, Emma, and Ian have an infant daughter named Ellie. JP
