About this listen

My name is Rose Madden, and I have spent my life being the perfect daughter. Thanks to my daddy, I'm an expert marksman who dresses like some modern-day freaking June Cleaver. My life has been perfectly scripted since the day I was born. I've never deviated from the plan - until I met attorney Max Decker. Now he has me doing insane things to get his attention, like grabbing him in his car and being arrested for stalking my ex-boyfriend just so he'll come bail me out of jail. He thinks I'm crazy - but he wants me anyway. Will he still feel the same when fate steps in, revealing my secret shame to him? Contains mature themes.

great series

I loved this book but it definitely wasn't as great as lucian and Lias. it seemed secondary not much action or drama...Rose was a bit annoying and childish most of the time. Max was too good for her and to mature for her. Ending was just mediocre...not a true HEA.

loved it

I'm a fan of Landon's books. I love she's not only put the sexiness but a story to her books.

Intense!

This was a really intense read. It gives us all a look of what many people are going through. It's real and emotional. I loved the entire series.

Internal demon fighting is great strength

I enjoyed this whole series. But I almost skipped this one based on reviews here. Reviews that say Rose is "weak"

If you read those and paused please take a second to read my second opinion.

Lia in the first few books fought a history of physical and mental abuse and the reviewers praised her strength. Rose hide deep emotional abuse and trauma behind brassy boldness.

Here she hits rock bottom and fights her way back. She learns the lean on others, to trust when she had no reason to trust ever again. This is true strength.

This a great journey into personal recovery!

Enjoyed

I read the reviews on this book and regardless of some bad ones i went ahead and pick this up. I am very glad i did because it talks about a very stonge topic on how some people deal with sttess. This was a very heart warming book with a lot of ups and downs. I so did not like Roses' parents when you pick this book up and you will know why.

Narration Runied It...Just AWFUL

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Maybe someone that isn't familiar with the Series

Has Rose turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I will be more careful and read the reviews before I buy another Sydney Landon book. Her books are a hit or miss.

What didn’t you like about Sean Crisden and Jillian Macie ’s performance?

Absolutely NOTHING! it was just AWFUL

What character would you cut from Rose?

Rose, she was so pathetic & desperate. This is not the Rose from the other 3 books in the series. Yes, she had issues but that is all I heard throughout the entire book. She didn't have any backbone in this version, I mean NONE! Suddenly Rose is nice and sweet? Really, NO!

At least we kind of got the chance to catch-up with Lucian & Lia. But not so much! if you get the audiobook you will understand what I mean.

The story came off as stale and outdated. It read like the Author had to put something out there for the listeners. I don't believe true fans of Lucian & Lia's story will enjoy Rose's story, I'm sure they will be very disappointed.

And the Epilogue, Sydney you could've kept that nonsense.

Any additional comments?

This Audiobook is a Prime Example as to how BAD Narration can ruin it for the listener. Sean Crisden was ok, his female voice needs work though.

As for Jillian Macie, what can I say about how terrible she was for Rose. Her voice did nothing for the passionate Sexy scenes, it sounded like she was talking through her nose, while under water and her reading style sounded like she was reading a recipe book. It was just that awful.
As far as the male voice, what male voice? she didn't change her voice and I couldn't tell the characters apart male or female. The scenes that were suppose to be laugh out loud, fall flat because she did an awful job with delivering the lines.

Did I say how I forwarded most of the book and missed absolutely nothing.. Now some may say how can you say you hated if you forwarded a lot of the book. Well let me say if you can forward about 30% of the book and still come back to the same 'ole thing without missing anything because nothing has moved on or resolved that means the book is full of fillers (basically nothing was going in the book at all).

It's not Credit Worthy... but if you feel that you have to finish the Series wait for a sale.. Believe me... you aren't missing much!

Could have been better!

The story of Rose was okay at best. I think the author took too much time building up Roses’ character in the previous books only to let us down with this ridiculous façade that she was really this damaged creature! This story could have been so much better without the addiction and self loathing. The book of Rose felt unfinished and under developed to be a stand alone story. It took all I had to finish this book and to say the ending was underwhelming is an understatement! I just hope the other books in this series after Rose have a little more thought put in to them and don’t fizzle out at the end!
