Ein reicher Grieche namens Chrysodaktylos (zu Deutsch: Goldfinger) versucht, auf ausgeklügelte Weise, durch den Einsatz von Hypnose und unter unfreiwilliger Beihilfe ausgesuchter Varieté-Artisten, den Schild des Achilles, eine Berliner Leihgabe, aus dem Museum von Athen zu stehlen.
