  • Summary

  • Abuse comes in many shapes and forms. It comes to some of us at birth. For others, it comes out of nowhere. It can rob us of our happiness and joy by causing us to become depressed and fearful. That pain leaves scars. Even though we may be physically, mentally, or verbally abused, we are not damaged goods. We can choose happiness by focusing on the necessary work to get ourselves out of the situation. We can do it by seeking help, distance, or termination with the relationships. And, if we turn out to be the abuser, we can find happiness in the same way as the victim, through seeking help to heal whatever is causing us to seek the need to victimize another.
