She just couldn't understand, after all that Trump had done, after the 2020 election, after January 6th, after all the indictments and felonies, she just couldn't understand how this election could be close. How Trump could actually win. So I told her.

Her husband was shot and killed Saturday at the Trump rally. President Biden called her yesterday. She declined to take the call. And immediately America, on social media, pounced and got outraged. Instead of giving this woman some grace and understanding. Be better America.

What happened Saturday was horrible. Political violence is always wrong. But Trump and his supporters are using the shooting to try to intimidate his opponents into being quiet. Into not calling Trump a threat to democracy. Don't let them intimidate you. Trump remains a threat to democracy.

I say this as a former candidate, I say this as a former politician, I say this as an old guy who had voted in a whole lot of elections: Rarely do you love who you vote for. Rarely are you inspired by who you vote for. That's life. And that's ok.

I'm a former politician. So I get it. Yes, the only thing politicians care about is getting elected & staying in power. But I had a private conversation with a Democratic elected official yesterday and what he said STILL stunned me. And saddened me.

It doesn't matter who the Democratic nominee is. It just doesn't. The only thing that matters is stopping Trump. And saving our democracy. So join me. Please to support the Democratic nominee no matter who it is. Join the "NO MATTER WHO IT IS" club.

I've given up everything to oppose Donald Trump. Nothing matters except defeating Trump in November. I've publicly called for Joe Biden to step down. Disagree with me sure. Call me stupid, sure. But don't question my motives. Don't you dare do that.

A plea to Gen Z. Save this country in 2024. Save this democracy in 2024. Come out and vote like you've never done before. Vote against Trump. No matter who the Democratic nominee is. Do that this year. And then we can fix this broken political system of ours.
