    Justin Bear L’Arrivee is of mixed Cree and Scottish ancestry from Peguis First Nation (Maternal) and a citizen of the Manitoba Métis Federation (Paternal). He currently serves as an Artistic Director at Urban Shaman Contemporary Aboriginal Art. He has experiences as an arts administrator, facilitator, and community worker who’s passionate about revitalizing Indigenous ways of being through arts and culture.

    With a focus on program development, community projects, and youth mentorship, his journey has been driven by a deep commitment to empowering and uplifting Indigenous voices. His practice is firmly rooted in community needs, and is deeply informed both by my work within the child-welfare & disability systems and in the artist-run centre sector. His goal is to build decolonial spaces that foster Indigenous creativity, challenge oppressive systems, and build momentum for the next generation of Indigenous artists.

    Bobbie-Jo Leclair is a proud Nehiyaw from One Arrow First Nation in Saskatchewan, through her father, and Métis through her mother’s lineage. She currently serves as the provincial lead for the Indigenous Excellence for Education Team, spearheading Manitoba’s Indigenous, Northern, and Language Teacher Recruitment and Retention Strategy.

    With over 21 years of experience in education, Bobbie-Jo has dedicated her career to advancing Indigenous education in various roles. She has collaborated with educators across Manitoba to develop and facilitate professional learning opportunities that center on Indigenous perspectives, fostering greater cultural understanding and inclusion within the education system.

    Driven by a deep passion for Indigenous education, Bobbie-Jo is committed to supporting transformative change. She is actively involved in professional learning initiatives and advocacy efforts that aim to create equitable, culturally relevant educational opportunities for Indigenous students and educators across the province.
