  • When is a four-peat not a four-peat?
    Sep 9 2024

It’s Solheim Cup week once again – but Europe are not going for their fourth consecutive win, right? Right?!

That’s just one of the many Very Important Questions answered on this week’s episode of The bunkered Podcast.

Michael, Bryce and Alex look forward to this week’s clash at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia, taking a deep dive into each team, their captains and pretty much everything else.

Plus, is Jon Rahm really about to pass up the chance to play in the Ryder Cup? What’s the real motive behind Rory and Scottie’s match with Brooks and Bryson? And does anybody know Doja Cat’s actual name?

  • Could Rory McIlroy join LIV Golf?
    Sep 3 2024

Rory McIlroy’s comments about wanting to play less golf next year have prompted some people to suggest that the Irishman could be about to perform the mother of all U-turns and join LIV Golf.

Is that really a possibility? Michael, Bryce and Alex discuss that prospect on this week’s episode of The bunkered Podcast.

Elsewhere, there’s praise for $62million man Scottie Scheffler, frustration over the FedEx Cup, a salute to Catriona Matthew and the Solheim Cup team, and an absolutely massive spider.

Plus, Twin Atlantic frontman Sam McTrusty joins us to discuss the band’s new album Meltdown – out now – as well as golf in Canada and Bob MacIntyre tattoos.

  • How do you solve a problem like women’s golf?
    Aug 27 2024

The AIG Women’s Open at St Andrews brought the curtain down on golf’s major season for 2024 – but did it also shine a light on some of the challenges the women’s realm of the sport is facing?

Disappointing crowds, not enough media coverage, lots of retirement chatter... all were on show throughout the week and, whilst some people would gladly turn a blind eye to that, The bunkered Podcast will not. Because that’s not how you solve problems.

On this week’s episode, Michael and Bryce discuss all the above, whilst also praising the extraordinary Lydia Ko who is, at long last, a major champ once again.

The guys also get into the Matt Fitzpatrick driver debacle, Keegan Bradley’s playing-captain prospects, and (of course) the big Oasis reunion. No, for real.

  • The Anthony Kim interview!
    Aug 15 2024

Anthony Kim was once one of the world's most exciting, talented and recognisable young golfers.

Between 2006 and 2012, he won multiple times on the PGA Tour, inspired the US to Ryder Cup glory, reached sixth on the world rankings, and broke records at Augusta National.

Then he walked away without explanation.

For 12 years, nobody knew where he was. Sightings of him were few and far between. He as good as vanished until the LIV Golf League persuaded him to return this year.

Where has he been all this time? What convinced him to end his exile? And more to the point, what comes next?

AK answers those questions on this week's episode of The bunkered Podcast - his FIRST major one-on-one chat on this side of the pond.

Elsewhere, Michael and Bryce discuss Lydia Ko completing the Olympics ‘medal slam’, weigh in on the fuss caused by Trump Turnberry’s £1,000 green fee, and discuss the three golf-related items they would want with them if they were stranded on a desert island.

    It’s another bumper episode.

  • The big Olympic golf debrief!
    Aug 6 2024

Well, well, well. Who saw that coming! The men’s Olympic golf competition was right up there with the very best tournaments staged all year.

Michael and Alex reflect on an epic week at Le Golf National.

Does the format work? Would it really be better with amateurs? Could this event, in time, become as big as a major?

Plus, how good is Scottie Scheffler? What now for Tommy Fleetwood? And was Jon Rahm’s collapse really one of the “biggest chokes of the year”?

Michael also reflects on his recent visit to the LIV UK event at JCB Golf & Country Club, whilst Alex lives up to his reputation as bunkered’s resident Bradley Walsh.
