Episode #39 of The Happiest Sad Person Podcast.

Join me, Alessandra, as I explain how on earth I was hacked in the year of our lord, 2024. Yep, you heard that right. I talk about how I'm trying to learn something from this whole experience and how I maybe manifested it by accident. (Whoops:( ) It's really a take on trying to make lemonade from some nasty lemons.

So, take a listen and commiserate if you too are going through it -- or get some relief that you're not in my situation.

As always, it's a choose your own adventure experience.

Also, feel free to report my hacked accounts to help a girl out. They are linked below! :)

    High Taste/Low Skill Quote:

“Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know it's normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through."

Episode #38 of The Happiest Sad Person Podcast.

Join me, Alessandra, as I open up about my desire not to film today and my futile addiction to perfectionism (always to my own detriment). I also give my own spin on the notion that the grass is not greener on the other side and how social media makes me feel behind and depressed.

It's really an ode to the idea that there's nothing more hollow than fulfilling someone else's dreams.

So, listen to this pod -- and then go get those dreams, girl! [or guy, ambition don't discriminate here] !!

Episode #37 of The Happiest Sad Person Podcast.

Join me, Alessandra, as I discuss designing my own hodgepodge syllabus for my life-long education plan (or at least for the foreseeable future). I also muse on the sadness that is adulthood, how we "childify" America, and how to find the simple joys as a grown-up -- for me it naturally involves dry erase markers.

It's a perfect combo of social commentary and self-betterment, what's better than that? :)
