This is not your typical sports podcast. Our host, Parker Grelecki, was born with severe brain damage due to hydrocephalus, excess fluid on the brain. The hydrocephalus was so bad, resulting in so much fluid buildup in his brain, that he was born with only 8mm of brain matter. From the very beginning, our prayer was that God would be glorified through Parker’s life and we are continued to be amazed at how God has answered this prayer in Parker’s life. At birth, we did not know if Parker would live, thrive, walk, talk, whatever. We were told that we would just have to wait and see what Parker would do. Well, here we are with our thriving, walking, talking miracle. Now, Parker has faced and continues to face a few setbacks and challenges, but it’s hard to say he’s been slowed down. So, that brings us to the podcast. Although Parker will never be able to physically play sports, he has an unparalleled passion for all things sports, having a dream to become a sports broadcaster. Unfortunately, he’s not able to attend broadcasting or journalism camps or programs. So, it was suggested, as part of his occupational therapy, that he launch a sports-focused podcast, so he could develop his interviewing and producing skills. During this podcast, Parker will talk with all kinds of people from all facets of the world of sports. Just like the start of his life, we have no idea what’s going to happen; we’ll just wait and see what he does. And so we bring you Parker, The Fan in Fanatic.
