**Re-release: The Heart - Fruits versus Works**

  • Summary

  • **Re-release**

On today's episode, Jana and Reata contrast the works of the flesh with the fruits of the spirit. Opening with scripture from Galatians, they discuss the importance of knowing God's word in order to utilize these fruits to overcome the desiress of the flesh in your daily life.

Reata recaps Psalm 51 (the ending verse Jana referenced in the previous episode) providing context and background behind David's prayer of repentance for his actions with Bathsheba. Jana connects this scripture with her personal struggles with honesty and commitment early in her and Jordan's relationship. She also shares how Jordan showed tremendous grace despite her shortcomings and how owning up to her mistakes helped her learn how to "live in the light" instead of hiding secrets in the darkness.

Additionally, they discuss the idea that God sees things in us that we do not see and he wants to bring them out. Lastly, Reata shares a quote, "God doesn't call the qualified. He qualifies the called."
