In today's podcast I interview special guest Hamza Twaha Bwambale from the Nadir Foundation based in Uganda. The Nadir Foundation is a Charitable Community based organisation which operates largely in the Kasese district in Western Uganda. The Nadir Foundation aims to support and help the poor community that it is surrounded by through various support and need of external help.

We discuss in some great depth the amazing progress and support that the Nadir Foundation provides to the local community but it also greatly needs more financial support as they assist with wider issues such as education, building religious facilities to support the Muslim community, helping with medical facilities and helping local children as well as orphans.

Nadir Foundation would greatly benefit from external help and support and if you would like to donate then please contact the organisation via the details below:

  • Red Flags...Why do we ignore them or not spot them?
    Feb 24 2025

    Send us a text

So many people these days say out loud 'that's a red flag right there, but are you so blind you didn't see it? How could you not see it? It was so damn clear?'.

Many of us who have grown up with 'unnormal', 'unloved', 'traumatic' childhoods see the 'average' red flag as a normal consistent daily way of being, largely this is because we know no different. We don't know that this behaviour we have become accustomed to is so irrational, wrong, tormentive and abusive because we have perceived it to be 'normal' duties or declarations of 'love' but it's the least thing from that.

I explore what our 'warped vision of love' makes us accept and why we go along with these 'red flags' that are visible to others but somehow invisible to us.

To anyone healing from this, sending you much love, blessings and healing.

  • Why it's best being part of a Trade Union now, more than ever.
    Feb 15 2025

This was a video podcast which I had recorded previously and felt it was important to have it as a digital podcast.

With the Global impact of Covid 19 many people are finding themselves, lost torn, betrayed, confused and angry by the government or the political system around them. Now is the time to join a Trade Union if you aren't a part of one because they are they to help and support you into having a voice. This is my personal story of how the NASUWT in the UK helped me find my voice. Can a union help you find yours to make a change?

  • The Parentified Child
    Feb 15 2025

    Send us a text

Have you been in a position where you were meant to be the child and instead had to be the 'grown up' instead? Did you have to 'take care' of the 'adult' that is supposed to 'look' after you? Were you the 'grown up' taking care of siblings and doing adult type responsibilities? Did you have to grow up 'quicker' than others due to additional roles that really a child of your age shouldn't be doing?

These are some of the issues I raise in today's podcast. In our world we may not recognise that we were in fact the parentified child, or perhaps we might not recognise some of the signs and later impact on us as adults in our relationships as we grow.

  • How to have determination and resilience despite all odds being against you.
    Dec 30 2024

    Send us a text

How do you overcome obstacles in your life? How do you persevere when life just keeps on giving you more grief? This is my recount of such a challenge I faced in my youth and how it moulded me into the person I am today.
I recount on an older video podcast on how I struggled with a physical disability and how it changed my life forever. I was a very active child, always into sports and to one day have that taken away from you without notice or even an understanding of what was happening to my young body was very alarming and confusing.
I explore how this physical pain changed my life forever resulting in eventually having a total left hip replacement at age 21 which back in those days was unheard of.

Tune in and listen to my heartfelt podcast which I hope supports others facing medical issues.

Blessings to all suffering from any bad health.

  • My first job and how it changed me and the community around me.
    Dec 29 2024

    Send us a text

This was a video podcast I did several years ago and I felt it was important to have it recorded as an audio podcast.

When I was aged 18 years old I had sadly failed my A-Levels and found myself in a very difficult position of having to resit and redo my whole A-Levels again. I had missed years of school on and off due to being in and out of hospital since the age of ten facing some paralysis and various health issues to my left leg without a real diagnosis much later on in my life. Ironically doing my GCSEs was a breeze despite missing so much school and I outshined my male cousins in comparison but not when it came to the A-Levels.
Due to this reason, I pestered my strict Muslim Pathan father permission to apply for a job. This might seem 'normal' to some of you but back in those days Asian women did not, I repeat did not work! After much persuasion he finally allowed me to apply for a job and none of us thought anything of it since I applied many, and I mean many months ago. That is, till I got that home phone call that would change my life and the people around me in ways I hadn't imagined.
My dearest mother broke the rules that day and gave me the 30-pence bus fair to allow me to go to the huge shopping centre that had only just opened up in 1990. I recall seeing the demolishing of East Hecla Works of Hadfields Ltd as Meadowhall became the first largest shopping Mall within the United Kingdom. Little did I imagine that I would end up working there as the first person of colour, let alone as a Disabled Muslim female who was from a Pathan background.
The job not only changed me, but it changed many people in the community around me.

Tune in to my podcast and discover why.

  • Podcast Tribute to Khaled Nabhan
    Dec 16 2024

    Send us a text

This podcast is a tribute to the beautiful soul of Khaled Nabhan. Sadly the world woke up to the news of his tragic death today and we cannot fathom the fact that he has gone.

Our world was introduced to the beautiful soul of Khaled Nabhan when we watched him lose the love of his life; his grandchildren, in particular his beautiful granddaughter Reem. We witnessed him grieve over the loss of the beautiful Reem and as time passed we kept hearing his words of loss as he kept saying 'Soul of my soul' as he slowly came to terms with the loss of his precious granddaughter.

Many of us looked up to Khaled, we watched him rebuild his life. We watched him stand for justice, peace, love, kindness and faith. He witnessed him care and show compassion to others in Palestine despite losing everything himself.

We hope and pray for peace in Palestine.

Prayers to your family and for your soul.

We lost a great man today, but you will forever be in our hearts.

  • Solitude is bliss.
    Aug 3 2024

    Send us a text

How many of us sit in silence because we enjoy it, or because we want peace? Do we know how to enjoy the silence around us or do we find it difficult to be at peace within ourselves let alone around us? How do we even use this solitude time to enjoy our own comforts without the attachment to modern technology or the pressures of a job etc around us? Do we even know how to be at peace within and outside ourselves?
Many of us in the modern world we live in today find it increasingly difficult to 'switch off' and 'just be'. I discuss the idea of solitude in some depth whilst travelling through China.
