Nice temps in the mid 60s. I drafted 1st for the whole way out. Was hoping we could sprint it out at the end to see who had better kick. I felt good way out. Should have pushed like I normally do but was holding back. Near the bottom I felt my stomach was empty, I didnt eat enough before the race. Around mile 4 my stomach squeezed me hard making me gag and dry heave as it was trying to switch to fat reserves and squeeze anything that may be in stomach still. Nothing came out. That cost me any chance of a sprint finish. I was down 20ish seconds because of having to stop, it happened again at like 5ish. Costing me another 15-20 and all momentum. Second week in a row I puked. Last week was because of hydration this week lack of nutrition. I was over 1minute 30 seconds slower this year, than last year because of puking and not pushing more. That's even when last year I held back. So left to much time out on the course. I should have dropped hammer and did 5:30s way out since its downhillish. Also was not mentally in it. Around mile 2 I didnt care but after puking at 4 I also mentally checked out. Legs feel good and ill probably run more later. Achellies was sore some way out but didnt notice it way back.

Finally back in the winners circle. Finished 23nd overall in 39:23.14. But it cost me. I puked twice during the race. Somehow it didnt cost me the win. Not sure what caused it the 2nd may have been the water. But it took alot out of me. Cost me a good 2 minutes. My achellies was sore at start and is now. Very humid.
