interesting

I liked learning how England deals with uncomfortable subjects. I didn't realize how little I knew about the English people.

predictable

The whole premise was bizarre. This is the 21st century and no one suspected there was foul play in this relationship? British stiff upper lip and mind your own business aside, this book club of brainiacs didn't question their leaders demise?

Captivating from the start

I loved every episode of this series from start to finish. I cannot recommend it enough.

She went to Oxford...

The story was interesting and the message was well thought out. I struggled with the author mentioning that she went to Oxford and comparing everything to herself. Just kind of annoying.

Repetitive

Interesting & sad. life is stranger than fiction.
Started off strongly but was repetitive and felt like it was going in circles, trying to make a point which it didn’t get to. Could’ve been succinct in 2-3 episodes

Well done!

A wonderful telling of a horrific circumstance. If you enjoy getting into the motivation of a murderer, you will enjoy the very honest writings in this book.

Engaging story, characters and theme

Gillian Pachter's discernment of which details to withhold and when to reveal them is inspired.

Predictable

Seems like this story could have been told in two episodes. Felt typical, repetitive, and quite editorial.

Compelling Story, but....

This story was well worth telling but I feel that good storytellers get out of the way & let the story have the spotlight. Though I am sure her college experience was tragic & traumatic, the way she tied it in with this case didn't connect for me.

Also, when interviewing the former girlfriend, her impatience with the dogs did not help from a likability perspective. She could have problem solved that on her own - left the audio out in favor of reporting the conversation, recorded from a vehicle, or even just edited out her terse request to keep the dogs quiet. This woman is a victim in this sequence of events & I felt she needed defending - that puts me on the wrong footing with the reporter.

There was plenty of good material here which Gillian does a decent job of unraveling at a good pace. Would have liked at least some footnote on what Ben had to say for himself regarding his motives or thought process for all of this depravity.

Excellent Story Very Intriguing

Well written as well as narration. I would recommend. however I don't think the language and sexual content warning is necessary. It's softer than commercials on TV.
