    In this episode, I reflect on my journey from a person who thrived on control and leadership to one who had to learn the art of surrender. My early years were marked by a desire to lead and take charge, from school projects to forming college organizations. However, after college, my perceived control began to falter as I faced numerous mental and physical health challenges, highlighting my limited power.

    The concept of control can be daunting, especially when life feels chaotic. Yet, one of the greatest aspects of serving Jesus is that nothing under His sovereignty is ever truly out of control. Learning to surrender our need for control to Jesus can bring peace, much like learning to float in water. The more we struggle, the less we rest, but when we lean back and trust, we find true rest and direction.

    Jesus understands our human nature and our struggles with control. He invites us to release our tight grip and trust in His strength, power, and stability. By surrendering our burdens and weaknesses to Him daily, we can experience His power at work within us, bringing peace and reassurance that He is in control.

By his breath the skies became fair; his hand pierced the gliding serpent. And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him!     Father, help me feel content with my weaknesses because you say you perfect your strength and power in them. Lord, I ask that you even help me boast or rejoice, as Paul says, in my weaknesses rather than despise them. Help me trust you with all of my weak places, especially the ones that bother me the most, because I know this is where your power will be shown the greatest. After all, your Word says you choose what is weak to shame the strong. Help me never to trust in my strength and power but to boast in yours. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
