“That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” - Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬

In this episode, we explore Philippians 3:10, reflecting on the desire to know Jesus and the power of His resurrection. We discuss John 14, where Jesus comforts His disciples by declaring Himself the way, the truth, and the life, and promises to prepare a place for them. This chapter highlights the assurance that knowing Jesus is knowing the Father and the unity between them.

We also delve into Jesus’s promise of the Holy Spirit, our Helper, who lives in us and teaches us all things. Even after Jesus’s ascension, the Holy Spirit remains with us, providing hope, comfort, and guidance. Through the Spirit, we experience God’s presence and grow in our spiritual journey.

Finally, we emphasize the importance of prayer, studying the Word, and fellowship with other believers. These practices help us mature in Christ and prepare for His return. Our salvation, a gift by faith through grace, is deepened as we submit to the Holy Spirit’s leading, learning all we need to know about God.

“That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.” - Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬

Father help us to grow in Christlike maturity as we daily read and understand your Word. We submit ourselves to the leading of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us and obey His leading as He teaches us about you daily. God we thank you for sending Jesus Christ to pay the price for our sins, so that we can be reconciled to You and we thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to be our Teacher, Comforter and guide. Help us God to remain in your perfect will and remain firmly planted in you, so that our roots will be deep in you, to draw nourishment and to continue to grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. Help us Lord to be prepared for the day when You return to take us home to be with You. In Jesus Name, Amen.

  • Finding Freedom in Knowing Jesus
    Jul 7 2024

    by Keri Willis

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6

In this episode, we delve into the powerful concept of freedom through the lens of American history and Christian faith. Our journey begins with a poignant memory from an "American Heritage Day" event at school, where a stirring speech by a sixth grader on Patrick Henry’s famous declaration, “Give me liberty or give me death,” left an indelible mark.

We explore Patrick Henry's profound words and their historical context, highlighting how his call to action ignited the flames of the Revolutionary War. But we don't stop there. We draw a parallel to another, even more crucial battle: the spiritual war for our hearts and minds.

As we navigate this episode, we confront the chains of sin, guilt, and discouragement that the enemy uses to enslave us. We then turn to the ultimate liberator, Jesus Christ, whose sacrifice on the cross and victory over death offers us eternal freedom. Through the truth of His word and the power of His resurrection, we discover the path to true liberation from the power of sin.

Join us as we reflect on the profound truths found in John 14 and John 8, and celebrate the incredible kindness and grace described in Ephesians 1:7-8. This episode is a call to embrace the freedom Christ offers and to live a life transformed by His truth.
