  • S2E12 I Social & Emotional Connections Through Art I Mazarine Memon
    May 2 2023

On this episode, I talk with Mazarine Memon about her journey through art and how it ultimately took her into a whole new way of seeing. Mazarine has taken her experiences as a professional artist and created workshops for leaders, teachers, and students that provides an open platform to connect to our unique perspectives and collective experiences.

Mazarine Memon is a Canadian neo-impressionist artist of Indian Iranian ancestry. She earned an applied arts degree from the prestigious Sophia College in Mumbai and trained at Central St. Martin’s College of Art in London.

Her work has been shown in over 40 solo and group exhibitions in 15 countries and has won several awards. Mazarine is also the creator of the Mysteries in Colour ™ creative process, which became the basis of her unique art workbook (with no lines to colour within) and corporate and social workshops series.

The Mysteries In Colour™ process surfaces rich and diverse perspectives in any room through creativity and pareidolia (per-ˌī-ˈdō-lē-ə), a fun psychological phenomenon. Sharing perspectives creates a better understanding of each other, leading to more collaboration, better ideas, and fewer conflicts. The Mysteries In Colour™ is an imaginative, fun and non-judgemental way to see another’s point of view, which helps build empathy and a human connection.

Mazarine is presently in the process of rolling out the Mysteries in Colour ™ program for school districts  across Ontario for the summer of 2023. The aim of this program is to understand the value of a creative approach to SEL (Social Emotional Learning) for students.

  • S2E8 l Social & Emotional Wellness-A Family's Story I Dr. Myava Clark & Chris Clark Jr.
    Mar 8 2023
On this episode, I talk with Dr. Myava Clark and her son Chris Clark Jr. about thier journey navigating school and social dynamics from a unique perpective. Chris tells of his challenges with social media, bullying, and depression through middle and high school. In a moment of reflection, sparked by a conversation with his dad, the idea for CASEN was born of which he became a Founding CEO.    Dr. Clark and her son, Chris, are Co-Founders of CASEN (Collaborative Advancement for Social-Emotional Needs) LLC. CASEN is designed to help children communicate appropriately on different social media platforms for school, life skills, and the workplace, through social-emotional learning. CASEN helps bridge the gap between the classroom and social media, while creating a safe environment for children with learning and thinking differences. CASEN helps meet social wellness through social-emotional development, mental health development, bullying identification, and social media readiness.   CASEN originated from the lived experiences of Chris. As a teenager, Chris behaved inappropriately, at times, on social media and he came up with CASEN’s concept to help other children who may have social-emotional needs behave appropriately on social media. Chris wanted to help children avoid some of the pitfalls that he encountered. He recognized that not all children will have the support network that he had, and he wanted to find a way to help. CASEN has three platforms: CASEN Outreach, CASEN Education, and CASEN Connect.   ⭐️For more information and resources visit CASEN at www.casenllc.com   ⭐️Join Casen Parents on Linkedin CASEN PARENTS   ⭐️For more information on the Café Verve Podcast and the host, Lyneé Lopez, visit www.verveconsultant.com     Freebies

  • S1E6 I The Gift of Veronica's Way I Crispin Booker
    Nov 17 2022

On this episode I talk with Crispin Booker about how is struggle with the passing of his grandmother-Veronica L. Paul- led to the creation of his non-profit Veronica's Way. He shares the triumph and unexpected challenges of how he built over 20 computer labs in Haiti, Jamaica and Grenada that now serve over 10,000 students!

Crispin Michael Booker is the Founder of Veronica’s Way, a nonprofit organization that was created to offer 3 pillars of service to the community: Technological Literacy, Hunger Elimination, and Educational Support. Veronica’s Way is named after and in honor of Crispin's beloved grandmother, Veronica L. Paul, a retired school teacher from Grenada, West Indies, who dedicated her life to serving the community.

Due to severe economic hardships in her home country of Grenada, Veronica developed a committed practice and passion for feeding the homeless. As a result of these experiences, she made it her life mission to provide resources to those in need. When she migrated to the United States in 1979, this passion did not falter. In fact, she used every opportunity and resource that she had to seek support for families in need. She also made sure to train her family to always be in the mindset of giving.

Veronica's Way has built 20 computer labs between Grenada, Haiti, and Jamaica. These labs have given over 10,000 students access to new possibilities for career advancement that may have never been available before.

Crispin has committed to install a Veronica's Way computer lab in the entire African diaspora and is set for Ghana in 2023!
