In episode 03 of the Thriving Dog Business podcast, I'm diving into a controversial topic - whether or not to put pricing on your website as a dog business owner.

As someone who has built a 7-figure dog business myself, I've tested this extensively and have strong opinions based on real data and results. Putting pricing on your site may seem like the transparent thing to do, but it can actually limit your income dramatically.

I'll share a story from a recent client who proved this point perfectly. She left pricing off her site per my advice. A prospective client had been searching other trainers' sites and thought $200 per lesson was too expensive for her budget. But after my client met with her and built trust through an evaluation, that owner happily paid $4,000 for a full training program!

When you list pricing publicly, people make snap judgments about what they can afford before even understanding the immense value you provide. You shut off potential revenue. But when you have a conversation and you learn about their dog's needs, you can create a relationship, build trust, and tailor solutions.

I learned this myself when I removed all pricing from my site and switched to an activity-based
model. My boarding revenue tripled - yes, tripled! - that year. My clients were happier too because we took time to understand how to best care for their beloved companions.

I know it may seem counterintuitive to remove prices or require conversations when you're busy. But look at the types of businesses you frequent - do you choose your hairstylist or dentist based on website prices? No, you value relationships and trust in these services. View your dog business the same way.

Your expertise is worth investing in. Take down the pricing page and have discovery calls to learn about each dog's needs. This builds connection and shows you actually care, rather than treating this like an Amazon purchase.

You'll earn more revenue and loyalty when dogs are seen as family members, not products. I invite you to join my free Facebook group, Dog Business Success Community, to dive deeper into this topic and transform your business.
