Acerca de esta escucha

The world has turned.

Plague-infected, flesh-eating zombies now infest the earth. Black ops agent Chad Halverson of the CIA's top secret National Clandestine Service and a motley band of survivors must do everything they can to survive one more day, even as they try to find out what caused the pandemic.

Fending off zombies at every turn, Halverson and his group make a mad dash through the plague-ravaged, smoldering ruins of Los Angeles and Santa Monica to evade the clutches of the zombie hordes and reach the sea.

A cop with a drinking problem, a politician with a scandalous past, a couturiere who can't find her daughter, a CIA agent searching for his brother...alienated characters all caught up in the zombie apocalypse.

When Halverson finds out the truth behind the origin of the plague, he is targeted for extermination by surviving remnants of the government that are hiding underground and will do anything it takes to retain their fragile hold on power.

This is a terrifying new world where the living dead rule the land, killer drones rule the sky, and death lurks around the next corner.

Ok, I really wanted to like this story more but the pace of it was just to slow. I do really like the concept of the Halverson character, however I feel this story did not utilize his potential. Would a guy like this really waste his time with a bunch of losers who seemed more interested in sacks of money then trying to acquire more practical items for staying alive?

The world is clearly going to hell in a hand basket around you and you think a million dollars will somehow be useful.

Why does just about every TEOWAWKI or Zombie story contain characters who have to do stupid crap to screw things up for everyone else.

But I digress, I will keep reading this series with the hope that it gets better.

Has potential for a great Series

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

If you are capable of ignoring mispronounced words, the over usage of words, and an inconsistent timeline in a story, then this book is for you.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I need any good zombie book to cleanse my mental palate of this book.

Would you be willing to try another one of Mike Vendetti’s performances?

I will read reviews to see if he has come to grips with differing voices and learned to pronounce more words.

What character would you cut from Zombie Necropolis?

ALL of the losers the main character met up with? At the very least the stereotypical senator, the alcoholic jaded police officer and/or the "please save my baby!" female character.

Don't bother

The publishers description made me think this was going to be interesting, however, less then an hour into the book I'd had enough.

I disliked this book so much, I didn't waste the brain power to remember the names.

A CIA agent, wouldn't have spent 10 minutes, trying to talk to the dingbat woman he runs into in the first few minutes. How you can be so stupid, to think zombies running around and killing everyone, are just "rioters", and still, have survived the first few days of an outbreak, is beyond me; no, this wasn't Sean of the dead, or even an attempt to be funny, its just poor writing and a bad plot.

The conversations where painful, no flow, no attempt to even try to talk, it was like listening to a couple of shy 5th graders, forced to sit next to each other on the school bus.

save your time and money.
