Historia
You can’t truly understand the last decade of the 20th century without a look at the muddy, electrifying rock music that would come to define it: grunge. For such a short-lived genre—at least in the mainstream—grunge had a lasting impact on American music and culture. It also provides a unique lens through which to examine the post-Reagan, pre-internet America of the 1990s. In the six lectures of The Story of Grunge, you’ll explore the rise and evolution of the genre, tracing it from Seattle subculture to MTV and the Billboard charts, all the way to its decline and evolution into new forms.

Historia
The very strange but nevertheless true story of the dark underbelly of a 1960s hippie utopia. Laurel Canyon in the 1960s and early 1970s was a magical place where a dizzying array of musical artists congregated to create much of the music that provided the soundtrack to those turbulent times. But there was a dark side to that scene as well. Many didn't make it out alive, and many of those deaths remain shrouded in mystery to this day.

I want to play the piano!
“I want to be able to play the piano."
I told my friend, who gave me Vol. 1 of this book.
I learned to play the piano once when I was very young. One teacher had about 10 students. But at the time, I couldn't play as well as everyone else,
I couldn’t understand the notes. Why I can’t play? I cried, but The teacher ignored me. Since then, I have never touched the piano. But I have always wanted to be able to play the piano, so I tried. Just one page or two pages sometimes didn’t (lol). I tried it using my daughter’s electric piano. This book is very kind. We can learn at our own pace, and the teacher talking way is like a man-to-man lesson. If we go to the class, we must drive and take time. But if we find a time, we can learn at that time. It is much more convenient for me or everyone. As with anything, I think the most challenging part is to keep it going. If You can continue, and with this book, you can even play the piano!

Great way to start learning
I liked having this as an audiobook because I could keep my hands free to play while listening. It made learning way easier. The lessons are short and not boring, and it explains stuff like notes, rhythms, and reading music without being confusing. You even get to play real songs early on, which is cool. I liked that it mixes in a little music history too without feeling like school. I’ve only been at it for a bit, but I’m already playing more than I thought I could. Super helpful if you’re just starting out.

All That it Promises
This second volume picked up right where the first left off, and honestly, I didn’t think I’d make it this far with piano, but here I am! I started with zero experience, no fancy keyboard, and just a curiosity to try something new. The first book gave me the confidence to get my hands on the keys, and this one has deepened that confidence even more.
What I really love about this series is the lessons are bite-sized, super clear, and they actually make sense even if you’ve never read sheet music before (which I hadn’t). I’ve been able to build up my skills without feeling overwhelmed, and I can actually play a few pieces now, not just scales and exercises, but music that sounds like real songs! I’m not spending hours a day practicing, but I’m still seeing real progress. And the fact that they include classical pieces along with little bits about the composers makes it feel like I’m learning music, not just how to press the right keys. I am excited.

I can actually play the piano!
I used to take lessons when I was around 8 years old, but I didn't last long because I never wanted to practice, so I quit. And to this day, it is one of my biggest regrets! This audiobook has helped me not have to live with that regret. It walks you through step by step on how to play the piano, as if you're an 8 year old! Which is perfect for beginners. I'm so glad I found this book, it made the practicing so practical and actionable rather than someone I put on the back burner. I can't recommend it enough if you want to start learning piano!

Absolutely Amazing!!
I'm so glad I found this audiobook - it makes learning the piano a lot more fun and easy. With short quick lessons, I can listen and follow along with it every day. It's also very comprehensive with music theory, songs that you can play along with in the audiobook, finger exercises, and stories about the composers. Love it!!!
