They say going home is easy, and in all reality, it should be. Just not for me.
The small, one-horse town that gave me my roots, that made my soul thrive, is also the place I never wanted to set foot in again. I left everything behind and never looked back. Until now. With the death of the man who raised me, I’m forced to return to Boone.
Old wounds resurface, and heartache and loss trump everything once more.
Seeing the man who shattered my world the night of our high school graduation almost brings me to my knees. Jessie, my once best friend and love of my life, ruined it all for me...for us.
I’m back in Boone...and my secret is about to rattle the tiny town.

A Great Second Chance Read
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
In terms of the story, it was a well done second chance romance. The couple were best friends and young lovers. However, Jesse leaves to go to the major leagues leaving Jules even though she was pregnant. It was a pretty bad situation and they didn’t talk for years. I was not a fan of Jesse in the beginning and thought it would be difficult to respect him.
When Jules came back for her grandfather’s funeral, she sees Jesse again, who is home because of an injury. While they get together rather quickly given how poorly he treated her, it was heart warming how he treated his daughter. And the author did a great job showing how truly regretful he was for being such a jerk when he was younger. So it was believable, especially with a child in play (Whit is so adorable)
A bit of angst but overall, a fast and easy listen. I received a free copy from Audiobook Obsession for an unbiased review. #AudiobookObsessionReviewer
Great second chance story
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
The narrators, Austin Walp and Whitton Frank, started off stilted but improved over the first few chapters...or I got use to their performances. Either way, their voices are easy to listen to for long periods of time.

DISCLAIMER: This book was given to me free in return for my honest review.
BRIEF SUMMARY
When tragedy strikes Jules finds herself back in her hometown, a place she’s been avoiding for 5 years. Soon Jules is face to face with Jessie her high school sweetheart and old feeling resurface especially with little Whit around.
ABOUT THE NARRATOR
Austin Wulp and Whitton Frank did a fantastic job making this story come to life. I especially enjoyed listening to Whitton and look forward to finding to more of her books. Personally, I think that Austin did a great job playing Jessie but that his little girl voice was a bit annoying. However, I understand how hard it would be for a male to produce a little girls voice.
THE BOOK
This was a very typical second chance love story, but I couldn’t help but loving it. There is just something about books with single parents who find love (in this case with the biological father) that interest me. It’s just way to cute!!
OVERALL
This book was great! I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes second chance romance novels.

While fast in conflict solution resolution there where other bumps this couple faces and yet it is a dancing star that bring this story to its HEA.
I have one issue with this book, close to the end there's an insinuations over keeping someone, however the epilogue didn't bring up this character so I personally feel left wondering, I now have to go find all the words by this author and see if I can catch a clue.

Heartwarming 2nd Chance love story!!
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
Jules left the small town when her heart was broken by Jesse , her high school sweetheart. They had big plans for their future. On graduation night she told him she was pregnant. He told her to take care of it. Instead, she decided to leave town and never see him again. Jesse's football dreams didn't go as planned, he returned home to the small town he grew up in. 5 years later, Jules came home, with their daughter, for the funeral of her beloved Papa Jack. Living in the small town she knew what was in store. The gossip mill would be running amock. Jesse realized what he lost that day when he saw Jules again. He never stopped loving her. Now he had to figure out how to win her back.
This is a story of second chance love, With many ups and downs emotionally. Building trust, believing that she could give her heart to him again.
I loved this story , Nanny Jane is a hoot, and Little Whit a very fun loving little girl and brings smiles and sunshine .
Austin Wulp and Whitten Frank narration is so good. I enjoyed listening to the story. each narrator captured the essence of every character in the book. especially Little Whit! 🎧#audiobookobsessionreview
