About this listen

A sweet and spicy holiday romance between a spirited artist who returns to her small town for Christmas and her older brother’s best friend, a serious architect who pushes all her buttons—but whom she can’t seem to stay away from. Now with exclusive bonus content!

Lena’s plans are simple. Surprise her family for Christmas, don’t tell them she lost her job, and most importantly, spend the week relaxing with the people she cares about.

But when she arrives in Juniper, she discovers she’s not the only unexpected guest this year. Her older brother’s best friend, Gavin, is back after disappearing three years ago without a word. He has the kind of charm Lena has always been drawn to. But she knows he’s also the kind of temptation she needs to stay far away from.

Gavin has built his architecture career out of planning strategies for dealing with the unexpectedbut he didn’t have a strategy for the possibility of seeing Lena again. Though he’s been dreaming of her since the day he left, he can’t risk giving in to his feelings when they could upend the only family and home he has ever known.

New plan: try to be friends again. Just friends.

But as the pieces fall into place about why Gavin left, staying friends is the last thing on his mind…and on Lena’s. All the plans they’ve made might end up completely wrecked. And for once, maybe they want it that way.

This book is one of my favorite holiday romances I’ve ever read. It’s heartfelt, it’s emotional, it’s swoony and heartwarming, it’s perfection.
The audio was so easy to listen to!

Beautiful heartfelt holiday romance

Samantha is one of my favorite narrators - she switches voices so smoothly and I feel like I don’t struggle to differentiate between the characters while listening. She’s phenomenal and I loved this book so much. Cannot recommend this story and this narrator enough!!

Phenomenal Christmas Story

I only got this bc I needed another for a 2 for 1 but it’s going on my favorite list.
It’s so cute and so emotional despite there being no true external conflict. They battle their feelings and baggage. It’s one of those stories where they keep setting artificial limits where “they can’t be together” and I kept wanting to ask why? His feelings were so obvious- even verbalized, that after awhile she started to seem willfully ignorant and stubborn just so the book would keep going. Very adult people having internal tantrums “NO! I will NOT be happy!” That’s my only complaint. I kept wanting to shake them “snap out of it! There is NOTHING in your way!”
But it was full of heart warming and heart wrenching moments. I kept getting choked up. Their HEA was one of the most satisfying I’ve heard in a long time just bc of the authors gift for writing emotions.

There is slightly more F than M POV but it wasn’t ridiculous. Just sometimes when there were 2 or 3 back to back Fem. Chapters instead of alternating M/F

Samantha is my favorite female narrator. Although her voice can come be a bit too prim and proper sometimes, the deeper tone is pleasant to listen to and she’s one of few capable of doing male voices well. The male narrator was new to me and not my favorite at first—there was a certain vulnerable desperation to it (not the deep uber masculine tone most of these books go for). But the voice acting was great and for the character it ended up adding a realness and rawness that just made my heart ache for him.

Absolutely adorable and heartwarming
