About this listen

“Look, I’m not asking you to believe me blindly. Just…give it shot. Just check out the evidence.”

This is the big break that Nico has been waiting for - a new piece of evidence has come to light that will exonerate his uncle, who has been in prison for a murder he didn’t commit. Only no one will take him seriously - not even the commanding, dominant Deputy Case.

"We have a system, and I have to trust in it. I did my job three years ago…but you’re right. I don’t want an innocent man in prison on my conscience."

Landon Case is up for a promotion. If he makes Detective, he’s that much closer to the most coveted goal of all - being elected Sheriff. He doesn’t have time to make waves, chasing down leads on a case that’s been closed for years. But something about Nico’s stubborn nature makes Landon want to support him…and also see how beautiful he is when he submits.

Welcome to Worthington, Texas, where the heat doesn't just rise in the summer - you'll feel it all year long in these stories of older men and their younger lovers. If you are going to get plugged, enjoy it.

Nico wants to be a lawyer to save his uncle that raised him as a father. But his uncle is in jail as a falsely convicted murderer. The arresting officer on the case is Case, Landon Case. Nico wants his uncle released back into his life and will do anything to keep Case on the case.

As the two search for and follow up on clues, holes in the case keep appearing. Vital evidence was ignored. Testimony from witnesses was not taken. Nico tries to get Case interested, but not just in the case. Tracking down witnesses involves shared hotel rooms and bed. Interviewing witnesses at a sex club implants more ideas as lust longs for satisfaction and love links the case in their hearts.

But before the shot rings out, Nico is stupid, scaring Case. Case is already regretting denying Nico his promise to help with the case when he realizes his promise to protect and to serve.

Too bad Noah and Quinn did not find each other yet. Maybe next in the series of events.

A great story

I really liked the story-line, the way Nico and Landon dig deeper and deeper to find the truth about the murder that put Nico's uncle on prison.

I understand Nico's desperation to prove Oliver's innocence and Landon's reservations about going against his boss in something that, after all, could be simply wishful thinking.

I must confess that I glossed over the sex scenes because I don't like the Dom/Sub dynamic nor BDSM, but for those who enjoy them, here they are :P

The narration by Nikola Muckajev was very good.

Outstanding entry in the WORTH IT series

I had read this on Kindle, but the Audible book takes it to a higher level. It was like listening to a brand-new story, even though I knew the plot and the twists. Nikola Muckajev does an excellent job with Nico and Landon and all the supporting characters. Strongly recommended.

drama. danger, and attraction

Landon has every right to keep to his current pathway to a promotion, but after much encouragement he takes a chance and helps Nico pursue justice for his uncle. I liked both men's integrity and standards. I liked Landon and Nico's persistence and perseverance. The two main characters seemed like opposites that would rub each other the wrong way, but their friction seemed to work perfectly for them. I really enjoyed the narrator's voice and expressions.

Loved it

This is the fifth book in the Worth It series with developed characters. Nico the law student is determined to prove that his uncle is innocent, he ropes dominant Cop Landon into helping him. This is a dramatic, suspenseful and steamy read, with a bit of D/S and BDSM. The narration was very well done. I love this series.

Love and Justice

This installment of the series keeps you on the edge wondering what is happening and what ultimately Nico and Landon will do. Muckajev does another great job with the narration and has really made this an enjoyable listen.

pretty good

I'm definitely a fan of his book it was very riveting may need a little bit more of a steaming interest towards that there wasn't a whole lot of romance more direction towards the story which isn't necessarily A Bad Thing but when you look for a book of the romance type you also want the steamy parts

Complex characters and emotions

I loved the characters in this story! They were well-developed, complex people, both following their convictions. I loved Nico's loyalty to family and his perseverance in seeking the truth and his uncle's freedom, and I loved that Landon was willing to pursue the truth, even at the potential risk to his career, to prevent a miscarriage of justice. I loved Landon's protective nature even when he stated time and again what a nuisance he considered Nico. Beyond a great story, there is some really hot sex, too.

The narration was great with distinguishable voices and great delivery of attitude and emotions. Great story and great writing.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this honest review.

Worth A Shot is the best one yet!!

Nico's uncle is in prison for murder, but he was wrongly convicted and it's Nico's dream to prove him innocent and get him released. Nico is sent a letter from an unknown person giving some information that could lead to his uncle's release if it can be tracked down and proven. Nico remembers the deputy that arrested his uncle being kinder and more caring than other members of the law enforcement involved in the case. So Nico calls Deputy Landon Case repeatedly trying to get him to return his calls. Landon doesn't return his calls until Nico gets Finn to push his fiance Houston to beg his friend Landon to call Nico back. Nico and Landon clash big time. Landon finally agrees to help Nico, but he doesn't like it. Not at all. The sparks are going off between these guys and Landon doesn't like that either. The more they trace down the leads the closer they are pulled together. Can these two crack the case and get together before it all blows up? You'll love the back and forth between these two guys. I will definitely be listening to this one again.
