Publisher's summary

"I believe pain lingers," Angel said. "Do I believe in spirits? In the supernatural? Probably not."

The Lonely Motel holds many dark secrets... and Room 6 just might possess the worst of them all.

Angel knows all about pain. His mother died in this room. He's researched its history. Today he's come back to end it, no matter the cost, once and for all.

Shyla, a plus-sized escort, thinks the stories Angel tells her can't be true. Secrets so vile, you won't want to let them inside you.

But the Lonely Motel doesn't forget. It doesn't forgive. And it always claims its victim.

WARNING: Don't buy this book if you have a weak stomach, if you're easily disturbed, or if you're looking for a light horror listen. THIS IS NOT THAT BOOK. Seriously. You've been warned. (For signed copies, please visit my website.)

Shyla and Angel - a love story

Sure, you may listen and think it's the grossest thing you have ever heard. Sure, you my not look at traffic cones the same ever again.

But at its core, it's about overcoming trauma, and wanting to be found, and loved, in whatever capacity that may be.

So sure, you may have just puked up your lunch, or breakfast, whatever. But it'll stay with you and it will give you all the feels by the end.

Fast and Horrifying

Woom, by Duncan Ralston, was an interesting story, to say the least. it reads more like a book of short stories with the conclusion tieing all the stories together cohesively.

We are introduced to the character of Angel as he is looking for a prostitute to tell stories to...among other things. While they are "playing" and telling stories, the reader is left confused wondering what brought these two people together (other than cash) and to where these stories are headed. When the book ends I was left heartbroken with understanding in the grossest way possible.

This story is definitely not for the faint of heart especially if you are easily grossed out or have any trigger warnings whatsoever. This book checked off most TW within the first chapter.

This was a fun read, as well as my second Ralston book. Needless to say, I'm a fan and will eventually get to all his other works.

I also want to give a huge shout out to Joe Hempel for doing an excellent job once again with narrorating. He is a Master at bringing a book to life. Thanks again for the Audible code!

If you have to read for Trigger Warnings slowly turn around and walk away!

So I read this first on my Kindle, when I found it available on Audible I HAD to have it. I had to see if someone could read this without saying WTF as much as I did. Joe Hempel is an amazing narrator!!! Not one single WTF was uttered as he beautifully drew you into room 6 of the Lonely Motel. Mr. Ralston does such an amazing job leading you from one fu€ked up tale to the next...until they all come full term at the end. Is there some really messed up shit in this book, duh! Is it also a really great story, absolutely!!! Actual book, Kindle or Audible this is a great read!!!

Splatterpunk Delight

This novella was great in my opinion! It was, to me, multiple stories within a story which I absolutely loved. This made for a super quick read. Now, is this book disturbing and grotesque at points…absolutely but that is the point of splatterpunk!! This book though took a person that maybe we shouldn’t have any sympathy for into a real person that you could feel the pain that he had gone through and left the reader wondering if under different circumstances and with a fresh redo could things possibly be different. Run, don’t walk to go grab your copy of this book!! Yes, there are lots of triggers if that’s a thing for you so read the trigger warnings!!! Also, I listened to it on Audible and the reader was AMAZING!! He had the perfect voice to make the main character likeable at points!! Solid A for me in all aspects.

Ewe

Not for me. This was a lot. Very twisted and hard to listen to. I don’t think I could recommend this to anyone.

Gross

I read 100% match and groomer. This is the same ol’ nasty crap. Maybe if I was a middle school boy that giggled at this stuff it’d be a little more appealing to laugh over with immature friends, but as an adult it’s just dumb and not entertaining to me.
