About this listen

This set contains With This Ring and I Thee Take, the complete story of Scarlett and Cristiano.

With This Ring

Scarlett: When Cristiano Grigori came for me, he didn’t come alone. He brought his army to kill the soldiers at my door and took me for himself. He put his ring on my finger and marked me as mafia property. His property. My brothers thought they had wiped out the Grigori family, but Cristiano is very much alive. And he has one purpose—revenge.

Cristiano: The De La Cruz brothers were pawns to my real enemy. They were nothing but foot soldiers. Killing them was easy enough. Taking their sister, well, that’s another story. And she doesn’t know the half of it. Scarlett is mine. My bride. My pawn. She’s the daughter of a once-powerful cartel king. And through her, I will flush out the rest of the rats who sought to wipe out the Grigori name. Keeping her is just a bonus.

I Thee Take

Scarlett: Cristiano is my enemy. He’s also the only man with whom I’ve ever felt safe. Protected. But I have to remember that he married me with one purpose in mind—revenge. I would be the bridge to his real enemies. I can’t let myself forget that he isn’t the hero of this story. His hands are covered in blood. I saw that with my own eyes.

Cristiano: I thought I knew Scarlett’s past, but I didn’t know anything. I thought I knew the worst of monsters, but I hadn’t seen anything yet. Sometimes you have to lie to yourself to survive. Sometimes it’s those closest to you who will bury their knives in your back. Too many times it’s the innocents who pay for your mistakes. For your refusal to see. I can’t let Scarlett pay for mine. But I may be too late to stop it.

Fabulous Narration

The storyline is predictable but the narrators make the story worth the credits. Very good!

Absolutely the best !!

I have listened to a lot of stories similar to this but nothing compared to this !!! There was not a moment of the story being boring. I had to listen the the whole thing straight through. So suspenseful, so amazing!

🌻Why does there always have to be a stupid heroine?🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I enjoyed this duet, overall. The Hero and Heroine are both emotionally scarred individuals but, the Heroine is stupid, too. She never thinks before she opens her mouth. Just once, I like to listen to a mafia romance where the Heroine had a brain in her head!

Scarlett is annoying

Loved the books overall but Scarlett just got on my nerves. She seems helpless and has no backbone. He literally begs her to just be his friend and she says fuck you. Idk. Her character annoyed me but overall I liked it.

Dark and Very Disturbing But Worth the Read

I’ve read a few of Natasha Knights books and this boxed set made me come away wondering the level of information regarding sex trafficking would have been required to write the book and provide context.

This was not an enemies to lovers pretty tale. It was dark, very dark. In fact there are parts that are heartbreaking and others that are nightmarishly explicit. There’s a level if cruelty in some of the characters that is utterly terrifying.

On the one hand, to say that I liked these books raises questions about the type of person I am. There were a lot of triggers. On the other hand the author does a great job of really developing these characters, providing layers and bringing them to life. She also is remarkable at embracing the notion of the inhumanity in some people. But it’s hard to listen to.

I came away with a recommendation to read the books and a 5 star rating. But don’t expect hearts and flowers because that is most definitely not what these books are about.

Beware if you are triggered. There are scenes that are grotesque and brutal. The likelihood that the brutality is not simply imagined makes it all more difficult to read/hear.
