About this listen

Why is alcohol the only drug we have to justify not taking? If you want 101 hilarious ways to say I quit drinking alcohol without admitting you might be an alcoholic, then keep reading....

Have you ever been asked, “why don’t you drink alcohol?” and felt like you were being judged as if you were an alien from outer space? The concept of asking someone why they don’t want the night to end in complete chaos and to write off the next three days broke, depressed, and puffy-skinned seems crazy–yet alcohol is the only drug we have to justify not taking!

Maybe this sounds familiar: You’re on a night out, slaying life sober, and some moron asks you, “Oh–so why don’t you drink alcohol?” So naturally, you feel obliged to tell them why. But you’re not quite at that stage of oversharing every reason why you don’t want to add liquid chaos back into your life, and you struggle, so you say you’re on anti-biotics.

What if there was an empowering little book that contained 101 ways to say "I quit drinking alcohol" that could diffuse any awkward responses?

In her first quit lit book, Sienna Green shares her unusual story of going alcohol-free, and how being asked why she doesn’t drink alcohol for the millionth time motivated her to write 101 Ways to Say I Quit Drinking Alcohol.

If you are newly sober, an old timer, or sober curious, Why Don't You Drink Alcohol? will provide an unexpected, but highly amusing twist on traditional sobriety books. Some hilarious, some serious, and some designed to kill a conversation in a heartbeat.

Witty and Relevant

So many people are reaching for NA drinks more and more, for various and personal reasons and it can be really intrusive to be asked why a person doesn't drink. I appreciate how the author brings some humor into these responses and makes everything feel relatable here. With so many social moments revolving around alcohol, it's great to have these options available without making things awkward. Great resource.

Entertaining

Few things are as annoying as having to say no to a drink for the nth time or to tell people why you choose to be a teetotaler. This book makes it much less so. It proves that you can have some fun while setting some boundaries for yourself. I'm certainly going to be trying out the flirty nos.

Unique, funny, and plain useful

I’ve always enjoyed a drink or two on the weekends, but as I become more and more of a go getter, I realize how much it is actually holding me back.

Whenever I explain to people that I’d rather not have a drink, they look at me like I’m
nuts and offer the same old phrases: “life’s too short” and “you’ve earned it.” Not too helpful for someone wanting to limit something from their life.

However, after listening to this hilarious and unique audiobook, I find myself equipped with an arsenal of unique comebacks that are truly helpful and witty. Enjoyable listen.

101 Ways to Say I Don’t Drink

Wow, what a great book on why not to drink alcohol and how to tell people you don’t drink. The author shares her story about getting drunk and doing just about anything, then waking up the next morning with only vague memories of what happened. I can relate, I remember once in the Navy waking up, not remembering how I got home, and it took me two days to find my car. At least she has a sense of humor about it as she explains 101 ways to say why she doesn’t drink alcohol; most of them are humorous, but seriously I am glad she is now safe and hope she has a blessed future with her husband. If you need help coming up with excuses for why you don’t drink, then this book is for you. I enjoyed it and really loved: “Alcohol is a depressant, and I have already watched the news today.” There are so many more, you will love listening to them, and they will make you think.

I so needed this!

This was such a fun but also incredibly helpful book! I really enjoyed the narration - so engaging - as well as the list of all the funny and quirky ways to avoid having the no-drinking conversation. These are sure to end the conversation abruptly, and ideally provide a light-hearted laugh along the way. Overall, it is a handy tool to have I your pocket as you navigate sobriety.

Great Book.

This is an essential piece of literature. Those who are seeking sobriety in a nation so intoxicated that even its government could not say no to alcohol during lockdown will find this book to be an informative and helpful read. Despite the fact that the cover could, people should not be discouraged from reading any content that assists them in maintaining their sobriety. It is a wonderful book to aid with the difficult task of saying "No thank you!" to 'helping' friends and family members who are themselves trapped in the pitcher plant that is our culture's relationship with alcohol. There are several publications available that may assist in protecting oneself from something that is effectively poison. This is an excellent manual for actual use.

Unique and hilarious guidance!

This book provides a super fun and hilarious approach to overcome the social pressures of drinking alcohol. Each tip is delivered with a raw sarcasm and humor that had me chuckling throughout the whole thing. If you are new to being sober or have been leading a sober life for a while now, this one is packed with relatable moments. One of my favorite parts was when the author says, “The personal power you will gain from navigating difficult social situations with a clear head is unparalleled”.

Entertaining book, terrific narrator!

This book is a gem. It’s funny yet addresses the topic with true wisdom and empathy. I appreciated the author sharing her own struggles and was really able to relate to a lot of what she says. This book will make you laugh, and also leave you feeling more empowered to make your own life decisions.
