Weird and wonderful

Written in the first person this book is a group of strange creepy short stories which need you to listen so you are drawn in.
It was sometime hard to realise when one story ended and the new one had begun. This would’ve been better if headings for each story was more emphasised, with a large pause or something to illustrate that there was a new story beginning. The stories seem to run into each other.
I feel that the narrator voice suited the stories and add an eerie aspect.
I was given this book at my request and asked to leave an honest review.

Insanely Weird

Felt I was listening to a Twilight Zone stories rather than true horror. Felt like they were more like dreams but still interesting short listen (maybe if stories were longer and more detailed). I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

let yourself get drawn in

Sit back, relax, and get ready to picture every scene of this book. the writer has done a fantastic job with vivid imagery (sometimes too vivid! eww worms), and you can almost picture yourself in each scene.

The narrator's voice is calm, yet intriguing. a great way to bring life to these characters. he was well suited for the role.

However, there will be some people who are upset that the book was not rewritten in American terms (miles vs km etc). Having to try to do the mental math doesn't take much from the story, and by now we should all be learning the metric system anyway. :) I also discovered that I really dislike the word yurt. That's not the author's fault. Just an odd personal realization that occurred during my time with this book.

I'm sooo glad that Crina gave me a chance to listen to and review this book at no charge, and I would encourage everyone to give it a listen. I know I'm a fan now, and I can't wait to read the rest of what she's written!

A fun, creepy read

I would call this collection campfire stories for adults. They were short, creepy (and sometimes disturbing) pieces that got me in the Halloween spirit. Overall, I would give this collection 3.5 stars, but I always like to round up because shorting someone half a star hardly seems fair.

Interesting short stories from a talented Author

Overall 3.75

This is a collection of short (horror and Intriguing) stories. Some of the stories were really interesting and creepy and left me wanting for more. I really wish that they were slightly longer (but then they wouldn't be short :-)). However there were a few that sounded too random and I am not able to fully comprehend them (yet) - may be another listen would help.

Narrator was good and expressive, however I felt that the pauses between the chapters could have been longer. Sometimes it was difficult to distinguish between stories.

Overall an interesting listen. I liked the author's (Crina's) writing style and would look forward to read/listen more of her work.

Interesting stories, need better story breaks.

This is a good collection of stories that are meant to feel a bit creepy. they are different than the norm and very enjoyable. it almost felt like prose being read, but of a darker nature.
I do have an issue with narration. I would love to tell you my favorite stories in this collection, but I can't. The narrator didn't add enough pause between tales. I was often a bit lost and confused thinking I was still in the previous story but had missed a vital bit of info and backed it up to catch that and found that it was the next story title ghosted in. That is the other thing that could have helped, instead of saying it like all other words, inflect a little. or better yet, add the year you wrote it, or number it.
the production was smooth, with a great sounding voice for the stories read. The narrator did have some mouth sounds towards the beginning but that cleared up by story 2.
As far as the only other thing I would change, add chapter titles. it makes a huge difference in likeability, especially with a short story collection. it would be awesome to find story 4 with a title.
I was given this book for free from the author with the understanding of me leaving an honest review.

Shivery stories

Whispers and Other Strange Stories.
Crina Cristea

This is a short listen. Thankfully it wasn't longer because of the dark nature of the collection of stories. This held me captive, I had to know what would happen next. The suspense was great!!!

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. Aaron Adams brought these strange characters to life..........<<<<shiver.>>>>

A great collection of short stories.

I bought this audiobook blindly, knowing nothing about it or the author. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised at the authors mixture of horror/strange and erotic desires. It was done with a perfect balance so one or the other wasn’t overbearing. The stories were not cheesy teenage vampire/werewolf love dramas but adult themed which is much appreciated in this day of conformity where books are all pretty much the same. The author also has a unique ability to make these stories grab you and make you say “wow” at the end of each one even though they are not long. If you are looking for some short but great adult horror/strange stories, this is a must own.
