Plan, plan and check your plans!

These are some book nuggets:
Under promise and over deliver!
Be profession even when a offer or a job opportunity does not come through.
Some test your character by saying no to see how you handle rejection. And if you show professional curiosity they will recant and except your offer.
Remember
People you meet are not the be all or end all..
Always have a clean up crew and an idiot check Sweep!

Joy to listen too.

As an aspiring film maker I got a lot of information from this. It was incredibly well put together.

Loved it.

This was a fun listen. I learned so much. I’m thankful that your wife gave you the idea to create this book. You kept your word and taught exactly what film school doesn’t teach us.

His knowledge, experience, and candor was amazing.

If you are new to film producing you must read or listen to this book. YOU MUST. Why? The title says it all.

Informative And Honest

I enjoyed the book a lot. I did notice in Chapter 7 there is a line repeated which I thought was interesting because he just spoke about the importance of hiring a great editor.

Great Read! Must read for any filmmaker!

I saw some of Shane Stanley's interviews on the film courage YouTube channel (also highly recommended) and wanted to hear more from him so I bought the Audiobook.

Usually when I listen to Audiobooks whole doing another task (dishes, laundry etc.. ) this book though I ended up sitting down and taking notes while listening.

This book manages to do a few things... On one hand it will scare the Bejesus out of you and probably convince you never to produce a movie in your life. But if you are crazy and dedicated enough to produce a film anyways than it will be an extremely useful tool in the process.
Either way it will be a thoroughly enlighting and enjoyable experience.

If you read this book and "producer to producer" you will have a great basic education in film production (which of course could never replace experience, but you have to start somewhere).

I wish it had a bit more detail on international filmmaking since a lot of us are not based in the U.S. Understandable though because Stanley is based in the U.S. and that is his Forte.

So as someone who has been to film school and learned plenty new things from this book, I can definitely recommend this read.

Thanks Stanley for this useful tool, can't wait for the next one.

Loved the detail on the producing side of things. Especially in regards to contracts and insurance. Learned a lot. Very helpful.
