Great to have along with the printed text

Even though I've already read and written all kinds of notes in the printed text, this audio book gives me the opportunity of "working on my novel" even while I'm driving home from my day job. After all, you can't hear Weiland's crucial breakdown of structure points enough if you're trying to make sure you're really getting it. It gets more advanced as it goes on. The first part was obvious, but as it went on it proved more useful information on story writing.

Foundational knowledge

This book is shockingly dense with the most foundational basic knowledge about how to write stories that I didn't know I didn't know. Also, I would have thought that a voice actor reading a textbook would have no opportunities to do a good job, but the voice actor really brings it to life, gives the words some zest, and noticeably increased my attention span by doing so.
