Nina can never forgive Maggie for what she did. And she can never let her leave.

They say every house has its secrets, and the house that Maggie and Nina have shared for so long is no different. Except that these secrets are not buried in the past.

Every other night, Maggie and Nina have dinner together. When they are finished, Nina helps Maggie back to her room in the attic, and into the heavy chain that keeps her there. Because Maggie has done things to Nina that can’t ever be forgiven, and now she is paying the price.

But there are many things about the past that Nina doesn’t know, and Maggie is going to keep it that way—even if it kills her.

Because in this house, the truth is more dangerous than lies.

If you really enjoy physiological thrillers, this is the book for you! I don't think I've ever read a book with more twists and turns than this one. The characters are so well developed. You will find yourself loving and hating them at different times, for different reasons. I highly recommend!!

Interesting story of misguided love and obsessive revenge. Held my attention completely. Excellent choice of narrators.

Good Tale

This was an interesting story that I had a hard time predicting (a good thing!) However, at times it was a bit tough to listen to (harsh treatment by some characters).

Twisty, But Tough At Times

Had to stop listening several times to get through this book. Definitely a horror story. maybe because I could see it happening to someone in a real life situation.

Too horrible to cry over.

However relatable these actions and feelings could be in real life I'm sure glad I had never heard of anything like this..

Too intense for me

I did listen to the whole book and wanted to know what happened, but wasnt really gripped or astounded. the story is overly thorough, I did feel like I knew how the characters felt and what their days were like, a little too well.

Very through

I never review books however, I read reviews before I purchase. This book is suspenseful. It kept me guessing. At times it was tedious and hard to get through. It's a twisted tale. It's incredibly sad throughout. Not an uplifting story. Narration is great.

So Twisted

Great Story

Yes, it is 11 hours long. But I wasn’t bored one bit. I listened carefully to every chapter hoping I won’t miss a piece in the puzzle. It stirred up emotions inside me and made me hate both Maggie and Nina

THE PERFORMANCE WAS EVERYTHING

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

Who’s the bad person? Maggie or Nina?
What happened to make them behave this way?
Who will get the upper hand?
Using present day as well as memories and telling the story from two characters’ perspectives make the plot twists much more “just out of reach”.
Loved the ending...

Nice twists and turns

I really enjoyed this book. The narrator did a great job with really dark subject matter. The story kept me guessing until the end. I am looking forward to listening to more books by this author.

Great book! So entertaining
