About this listen

This first episode of the Montana Brides introduces Violet, Iris, and Rose Kilburn, heiresses to the Kilburn family cattle fortune. Rocking Horse Ranch runs five thousand head of cattle, but all the ranch hands are getting old.

The sisters need someone to run the ranch, so the eldest sister Violet hatches the idea of getting mail order husbands for the three of them. There’s only one problem; Cornell Pollard, the sisters’ guardian and the executor of their estate, doesn’t approve. Violet must challenge Pollard and her own role as his ally to find love and gain control over her own life.

The sisters pick up their prospective grooms from the train station and bring them back to the ranch. The men stay in a neighboring house until the minister comes at the end of the week to marry them all. Things quickly start to go wrong. Everybody starts butting heads, and Violet finds herself embroiled in a family drama the likes of which Rocking Horse Ranch has never seen before.

Will Violet’s plan to get married end in disaster, or can she and her sisters find love with a group of strange men? Are these men what they appear to be, or is something more sinister at work?

Violet's Mail order Husband

This book ended different than I expected. I didn't think I would like it very much but I was wrong it was an excellent book. It's impossible to put three sisters or brother's either in charge of a large farm of five thousand cattle and everyone get along. I expected the three guys to fight and cause problems but they didn't. There is a lot of excitement and adventure in this book. I recommend this book. It leaves you with a cliff hanger needing to wait till the next book to find out who did it.. But that's ok that's what I like about series. That's why you do series in order. I will definitely get the next book when it comes out. I received a copy of this book from audiobooks unleashed but that has no influence on my review. Nothing Is What It Seems

After having read the blurb and checking out the book's cover, I thought that I would like this story; however, that was not the case. The story started out as interesting. The book introduced three sisters, who are heiresses to a fortune. The oldest sister decided that each sister needed a husband to help with the running of the ranch. Then the characters started acting in ways that seemed out of character. There were some violent acts described that the affected characters just walked away from in an impossible way. The story ended on a cliffhanger. Dave Wright's narration was mediocre. I requested this audiobook from Audiobooks Unleashed and I have voluntarily left this review.
