About this listen

Having traveled through the Dance of the Gods to the land of Geall, the circle find themselves convincing, then training, the people of Geall to defeat Lilith's vampire army.

The Valley of Silence is a forbidding place for the battle of all battles, but the circle continues to prepare, through magic and a few early stakeouts that test their strength individually and as a team.

Moira finds herself playing the roles of warrior and royal as she follows the tradition of her people and prepares to take the crown before leading them into battle. And if that isn't enough, she finds her thoughts turning to Cian more often than not.

So what's a chaste and intelligent young woman to do when given less than a month with the man she loves, who's not a man, but a vampire? And how will the people of Geall fare against an army of blood-thirsty vampires who have had centuries to prepare?

Critic reviews

"Completing her series with the real-world complications of selfless, star-crossed love, Roberts has crafted a fantasy-romance trilogy with strong appeal for romance fans of all stripes." ( Publishers Weekly)
"Dick Hill's narration gives further evidence why he is an AudioFile Golden Voice and Audie winner. Even if you're not a fan of this genre, Hill does such a convincing job as each character that one cannot help but be entertained by this action-packed tale of good versus evil." ( AudioFile)

Love Dick Hill

Dick Hill is the best narrator I have heard thus far and I would listen to him read the dictionary. This was a fun and interesting trilogy as well. I wish there was another to buy!

can't get enought of Nota Roberts books
the stories, the twists, the mystery, the characters and the love stories.
narration was good but in his dramatic outbursts we often lost the dialogue.

Wonderful trilogy

I just can’t get enough of Nora’s work. I know this is an older trilogy but I still love to read it. So much I bought the audible version so I could listen while I drive, cook or when I am headed to sleep. I have other audible works as well. The only thing I would change with the reading of this trilogy is the volume level of the narrator. His voice is wonderful. The accents are great. He just lowers and raises the volume of his voice so much I had to constantly raise and lower the volume of my device to hear the conversations.
Otherwise loved the performance.

Dick Hill is a truly engaging performer!

Where does Valley of Silence rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

So far the best Narration performance I've found in the NR books- which topically are purely for entertainment. Mr. Hill however takes what would otherwise be fun read to a fantastically enjoyable listen! Enjoyed is so much, I listened to the series twice!

What did you like best about this story?

The characters are all interesting

Which character – as performed by Dick Hill – was your favorite?

Too hard to pick- he did a GREAT job with all of them!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I listen during my weekly commute (by air)

Saved the best for last!

Cian and Moira are my favorite and that mirror scene is unforgettable. Great story and narrator. I hate the gangster Boston accent he gave Blair but as she didn't play a major role in this book, completely able to overlook it.

I read this book some years ago and glad I decided to relive the tale in audiobook format!

one of her best

this is one of my favorite of Roberts fantasy trilogies. I had the original for several years on disc. for a reason known only to the publishers they abridged the last valley of the silence. I gave up one of my coveted credits when I found that audible had the complete last chapter. if you too have The abridged, I suggest the complete story as a companion to the previous ones.

the best of the trilogies

This story was the greatest love story of the three. I could not help but root for the vampire and the queen. The narrator was not so bad in the final story he was the worst in Dancing with the Gods. I loved when Morgana was talking to Caine and he came back to Mora and put his new found heart on the line. I listened to that part a couple of times.
