About this listen

Fossil fuels are bad. Illegal immigration is necessary for the economy. Free markets are arbitrary and cruel. Christians are intolerant. Men and women are exactly the same.

The dogma preached by the far left has gone mainstream and the results are frightening: Most of what you hear these days is flat-out wrong. Mark Davis pulls apart the tenets of liberal dogma in Upside Down, a right-side-up correction of everything that's wrong with today's topsy-turvy world.

Outstanding!

Very well read book. Because the author is a talkshow host, his speaking ability makes this audible book both pleasurable and informative.

I have listened to Mark Davis for more than 20 years, and he is much like he was at the beginning. He has a great love for this country, is open-minded in every way; and wants every American to take part in the continuation of a dream started a little over 200 years ago.

If you read this book, you will better understand the plight that we are in. In the end however, you will come away encouraged: realizing that you can be a part of our country's continued success.

Great

I'm glad I listened to this one during the daily commute. Mark provides excellent logic and reason for conservative viewpoints in a way that isn't dull and boring, but exciting and interesting. There are a few things I wish he would have explained more thoroughly, but this book did seem to highlight and briefly explain a myriad of topics, so turning it into an in depth study would have ruined the feel of the book.

Furthermore as a millennial (29) veteran (7+ years as a US Navy Corpsman) I very much was honored by Mark's comments about millennials who choose to serve. Thanks!

A good book but ...

For those who all already know Mark Davis's work this book does not bring anything new.

Common Sense Conservatism

Where does Upside Down rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

For those familiar with Mark's radio show(s), this book is an expansion of some of the key ideas he's expressed over the years. If you're not, treat yourself to some fundamental conservative ideas -- with a strong dose of common sense thrown in for good measure.

Excellent presentation of conservative viewpoint

This book is a fantastic review of conservative opinions and the reasoning behind those opinions. I learned an amazing amount about why the right thinks what it does. The book was very hard to listen to because of the righteous indignation the author has toward the left. His exaggerated exhaustion with the left is over the top for most of his reading as he believes he is perfectly correct in all his opinions. Furthermore, there are almost no facts or studies that back many of the opinions in the book. I expected the arguments to have at least some academic backing, rather than a regurgitation of emotional arguments that may or may not have any actual data supporting them. Even on opinions that I shared with the author I found it hard to identify with someone who is so polarizing and lacks authority outside of his own words and opinions. I guess that reflects many of us, who have the opinions that we do based on being part of a group but I guess I assumed that someone writing a book would do at least cursory research to support their opinion.
