Addictive and Intense!

This is an absolute page-turner! This billionaire workplace romance has all the right tropes—enemies-to-lovers, secret relationships, and a tortured hero bent on revenge. The chemistry between Holden and Rowan is electric, and the tension kept me hooked throughout.
I hated Rhett and Chad as much as they both did…

Chapter 51 was a highlight: Rowan is a queen in disguise and that chapter was brilliant!

The cliffhanger ending left me craving more! If you love high-stakes romance with twist and turn, a damaged MMC and a fierce FMC, this story won’t disappoint. I can’t wait for the second book.

First book is fantastic

Patrick Zeller and Victoria Connelly were terrific narrators for this first book of the series. Holden has a lot of ulterior motives in buying this family company. It's taken many years to get to this point. Rowan believes Holden has her best interests in mind. You know what they say about a woman scorned? I can't wait for the next installment. I hope it comes soon!

Great Story. I hate having to wait for audio 2. Due in October. Wish I had paid more attention to this being a Cliffhaner.

Update…it’s a damn cliffhanger

Where do I begin? First the male narrator sounds like an old man. Honestly, the female narrator version of the man sounds better than the male narrator. He definitely doesn’t come across like a 32-year-old male. I just cringed every time he would speak, hoping it would sound better, but it didn’t. Second, the FMC is SO weak. Ugh! She thinks she’s better and strong (in her head) than she actually is. Without giving away any of the story, she is fighting for a family company that is failing but she doesn’t have a proper seat or any say because she’s a female. And all the negative things that are happening to the company she thinks she could save it and make a difference or positive changes when she has zero backbone, no confidence and just so weak. She is in her own head most of the story so you get kind of confused on what she thinks of herself in her head verse what she does in person, which is nothing. She’s trying to stand up to a person who definitely had initial ill intent, but probably had her back the most. This is definitely a long and drawn out story. I only have about four hours left of this book, it was a stop and start multiple times for me cause it couldn’t hold my attention. The girl kept pissing me off. Trust me she’s a walking contradiction with the MC as well she keeps acting like she’s gonna be this all powerful female and then cowers It’s so frustrating. I’m still pushing through hoping that things will start connecting and changing there isn’t much time left to pull it all together considering this was a 12 hour story. Update….finally finished. And it’s a damn cliffhanger. And too long.

Cliffhanger!

I ate this book up! This is a revenge plot, enemies to lovers, workplace romance with twists and turns. There are some characters I loved to hate (looking at you Chad and Rhett!), and some I rooted for. The two main characters, Holden and Rowan, had great chemistry and good banter. The book ended on a cliffhanger….so that is my only complaint. Now I have to wait until book 2 to see what happens next! 😩

However, the cliffhanger ending left me craving more, and the lack of clarity about the next release is frustrating. If you love high-stakes drama and fiery relationships, this is a must-listen—but brace yourself for the wait!

NEVER AGAIN!

I will never buy another book by this author! Disgusting no ending for months! This is a cheap shot waste of time and money. Yuck!

Not a stand-alone

The narrators did an amazing job. The plot is good and the spice is 🔥, especially the build up. My problem is this is not a series in the sense that most readers would think it is. This is not a standalone with inter connected books. This is a book serials or episodic series. I wish the author would have made that clear. No indication when the next book/s will be released. Chances are I won't read anymore of this book serials due to the lack of forthcoming from the author. Very aggravated that I wasted my time getting to know the characters and won't have a complete ending. Had I known I would have waited to listen to the entire book serials all at once to enjoy and devour.
