About this listen

The plans I made for my life didn't pan out.

I walked away from my best friend, my lover, the only man I could see spending my life with to make a career of being a Marine, but it didn't happen.

A car accident took him away from me before I realized the mistake I'd made.

Now, 13 years later, I've met a woman and a man who makes everything seem ideal. He's perfect in a familiar kind of way, and she's the kind of brand new you can't get enough of.

It's just my luck that one's a ghost and the other is my boss's daughter.

These plans may not pan out either.

Contains mature themes.

Liked the idea of a triad. 3 ppl loving each other equally. Love the interaction of all the characters from previous and books to come.

Triad

Enjoyable and spicy. Tug's story is probably one of my favorites of the bajillion I've read so far about the Cerberus MC.

Awesome with one Flaw

Marie James is making me realize that not only do I love MF, but MM, and MMF are super hot as well!! I loved this book. loved the relationship, loved the whole story.

Tug, Jasmine, and Carlos come together in the most unforseen circumstance ever. Through some odd realizations and horrible events. They discover their love for each other goes beyond the intimate moments they shared.

SPOILERS!

My ONLY complaint is Max's character. He's good except for the constant guilt trip he keeps throwing at King. Yes, King left. He was a damn teenager and joined the Marines to get away from his abusive father and build a future for himself. Yet, Max faked his own death and watched from afar as King drank his life away grieving him. Ten years later, Max is still throwing the guilt trip, never seeming to understand or accept that King had to do it, yet he seems to show no remorse for faking his death and letting King hurt out of spite. Really makes me question his overall character.

The ending was kind of abrupt, leading right into a cliffy for the next book which has become James' MO in this series.

Awesome book

Spoiler alert some:

I love this book and I love how it brings real life issues and concerns into it. it gave us a look at human trafficking. Now Jasmine character I liked in the beginning but then to me she became ungrateful and got on my nerves. She want to compete with years of friendship and she just came in the picture also I don't like how in the beginning she tried to play them or put them against each other. It's like she wanted to make Tug jealous by always going to Max. ai like how Max caught on and was like No. This is when I feel her character change and she realizes their bond is real and strong. Now Max, Max got on my nerves with the you left me. Dude y'all were teenagers and he made a career choice to help himself and save his life. His dad was beating him, plus the military was not forever. people date and get engaged to ppl who are going into the military all the time. you choice to end things. Asking him to stay would have been wrong especially if you knew the hell he went through in his home. People grow and change and to hold that against him when he was just 18 and in survival mode was wrong. But still I love love this book. A great read regardless of the few things I notice.

Communication

The MFC always states how she’s an adult and at 30 and can do what she wants. She put off the MMC#1 off for weeks but then gives him a hard time about not taking what he wants or kissing her. The MFC and MMC#2 are both immature and assume instead of communicating. The MMC#2 holds a 15 year grudge against the MMC#1 when #2 knows #1 had a good reason for enlisting. Also, the three of them were supremely stupid for starting something in the club house.

Nah, this wasn't it....

First of all, the back & forth, the using sex as manipulation, the saying one thing & meaning another was just annoying. Some ppl think it's playful or cute to not say what you mean, but it's not. The only thing I got out of this book was the story building between Mia & Scooter. Everything else got on my nerves & I couldn't get to the ending fast enough. Also, the parents of this generation failed bc everyone except the innocent twin is a raging sex feind & sluts. Also if I never hear the words, "made my cock jump," "ram your cock in my ass," & other sordid sexual innuendos that are trying to make this book more sexually intriguing that will ever be, it'll be too soon. I've found that the more you get into this series, the more unoriginal it becomes. All the sex scenes sound the same, from character to character. At least use some different verbage or get a thesaurus ffs. I'm just annoyed that I wasted 7hrs on this book & think after I hear Mia's story I'll be done with the Cerberus books bc this just irritated me to no end.the only thing consistently good with these books is the narrator's & I'm sure they're even getting tired of the same shite over & over.

struggled

I struggled to finish this book. I am not homophobic by any means but if I wanted to listen to two men , I would choose that section in my choices of literature. Also it was hard to tell which mail character was speaking because it did not always give the name in the begging. this one was worse than itchy and snatch.
