About this listen

When Olivia Blake receives a note, she thinks someone is playing a prank...until she’s lured to an empty house. Then she witnesses a man burning to death and realizes the threat is serious. The problem is she doesn’t know who is after her or why.

As she tries to uncover who is tormenting her, someone watches from the shadows - someone who knows the truth about a tragic accident that happened years ago, someone who won’t stop until everyone involved has paid the ultimate price. They say revenge is a dish best served cold, but this killer prefers to play with fire.

Solo female performer

Olivia and five others were on a student trip when her friend Margaret was pranked inside a cottage and now someone is threatening all six of them. Olivia was knocked unconscious at the time, yet she too is receiving threatening notes. The five students apart of the prank had sworn to secrecy of really transpired that day. Now someone wants revenge for Margaret and suspicion falls upon Fern and Margaret’s brother.

Olivia’s a nervous wreck as the notes continue to haunt her. Her roommate Molly consoles her friend thru this dangerous situation. Olivia’s boyfriend Noah grows worried as the people involved in the prank turn up dead.

Noah is an ex-police officer and boyfriend to Olivia. Him and his partner Danielle investigate the threatening notes her friends received. He even takes it one step closer by installing cameras.

Trust No One is not a police investigation story, but it does involve an ex-police officer. As the story progresses the individuals involved are targeted one by one leaving Olivia for the grand finale. It’s not a story where it’s clear cut who the individual is seeking revenge or justice for Margaret. That reveal is saved for the ending where the big firework explosion takes place.

This is a character driven story of six friends tied to a past. This is my first time reading a book by Kerri Beevis. I borrowed this book from my prime reading library. This is a great way to explore new books and new authors. I always hope to find an author whose writing style matches my reading style. For me this was a solid three stars with that great shocking twist at the end. In the beginning I had difficulty getting my bearings on what was taking place. The manner in which information from the past was delivered was not as clear cut as I needed.

Narrator: Billie Fulford-Brown is the solo female performer of Trust No One. The performance was ideal for the setting of this story and the writing voice of the author. I’m always grateful to have someone else read me a book. I’m an eyes and ears person who enjoys the benefits of listening to the audiobook while following along with the ebook.

They got me!

I always know when I assume too early that I know who it is, that it’s never that person… and of course they throw you off completely and it’s someone you would have never imagined. And I love it still!

However, the Audio on this was Not great. The dudes just sounded creepy as hell the entire book. That really kinda just made me very uncertain of what was even going on at times. And it was a little cringeworthy.

Great thriller

I enjoyed all of it. Fast paced, good mystery, with exciting plot twists. Narrator was especially good.
