Greek mythology demystified

Steven Fry's performance ever since his first book has always been a lark. The Iliad for me was always one of those stories that you could sit down and read about end to end and still have it make to sense or get lost in the weeds. But the single-minded performance of Stephen here sells the story to me. Gripping me in every turn. I hope Stephen finds it in him to do the Odyssey.

Well done Mr. Fry!

I would recommend Mr. Fry’s entire Mythos catalogue to anyone with even a faint interest in Ancient Greece.
This particular entry may be the best yet. Mr. Fry has a very friendly voice that he can manipulate at will giving each of the many characters and distinct and memorable performance. Unlike many other adaptations or translations of Homer’s works, this is wonderfully accessible and entertaining. I am very excited for the release of the Odyssey. Thank you Mr. Fry.

A Thrilling Epic

I really do love these Mythos audiobooks and this one is excellent, a cohesive narrative that really brings the story of the Illiad and the surrounding myths of the Trojan War together in something digestible but not dumbed down.

Another Triumph

Fans of both hero and mythos will be in for another treat from Stephen Fry. it's almost comforting to dive back into the great mythology of the ancient Greek world with such excellent company of Fry's narration.

Never a dull moment, always entertaining and enticing, a brilliant take on one of the great wars that shaped mankind. Fetailed but never overwhelming, Stephen Fry make sure you understand clearly the important parts regardless of the amount of input he throws at you.

It will remain with you long after you've finished the last word. Truly a wonderful take on the Trojan war and all the heroes and gods that surrounded it. Bravo
