About this listen

Randall Drew is prevented from carrying on his career in steeplechasing by poor eyesight. Restless and unsure of his future but pursuing an ardent love affair, he does not welcome an invitation to go to Moscow on a delicate investigation, but almost irresistible pressure is brought to bear. A mysterious entity, "Alyosha", is threatening a royally-connected candidate for the Moscow Olympic Games; the candidate may be vulnerable to scandal which could set off intolerable diplomatic conflicts. The brief is vague, the opposition invisible. And the stakes appallingly high.©1978 Dick Francis (P)2014 Bolinda Publishing Pty Ltd. Dick Francis is one of the most amazing writers. Always suspenseful and enjoyable stories this is like every other Story he writes very fun to listen to. The plot is a little simpler than some of his stories and some of the loose ends are left dangling. Towards the end it feels like he just tried to wrap the story up. It is a very enjoyable story, probably not his best but still worth listening to. Tony Britton is one of the best readers I have ever heard I always enjoy listening to a.m.
