About this listen

We fought them for decades.

And we won.

But victory has proven more destructive than defeat.

Years after defeating aliens bent on burning down the galaxy, the Interstellar Union is breaking apart, its member species undermining each other at every opportunity.

When an interdimensional distress signal arrives, only humanity is interested in helping.

Captain Vin Husher is sent in with a task force....

...right into a trap laid by humanity’s old enemy.

Surrounded by a bioengineered super-species and unable to return home, Husher must draw on decades of experience just to keep his people alive.

If he can’t survive long enough to escape this hellish pocket universe and warn humanity of the impending danger, all will be lost.

And it might already be too late.

Another out of this world collaboration
"Scott Bartlett writes action-packed military sci-fi full of world-building detail. Mark Boyett has narrated every one of Scott’s books—over 15 of them and counting. So I know I can depend on the pair to bring the latest entry in their ongoing collaboration to life. Trapped starts a new series in a familiar universe, and provides a fantastic (in both senses of the word) jumping on point for fans of space operas, battle-tested starship captains, and a bio-engineered super-species created by an artificial intelligence intent on taking over the galaxy!? Where do I enlist?"

A new storyline...

As this is the first book of the series I thought it was pretty good. the story seems original and the action is good.

A fun book with lots of action

This is book 1 of the Fleet Ops series. I hadn't read the previous series, which they make reference to throughout most of the book. Still, I didn't think it distracted from this book at all. All in all, I liked the book and will be purchasing the next in the series when it comes out in a few days.

Space Wars

I did not love this book, not my cup of tea, a battle against insurmountable odds, another battle, a series of battles, not much of a story, lots of battles. if that is your cup of tea you will probably like it

I have mixed feelings.

I really didn't enjoy how the story leapt forward in some instances almost like whole chapters where missing. The performance was what kept me listening to this book more than the story. I did want to like it though.

Another Great Story!

This is a continuation of the Vin Husher story, although in a different Universe. As always, Mark Boyett delivers a strong performance and the addition of Joshua James as a co-writer adds "punch" to the story. can't wait for the sequels!

Great start to a new series

In the first book of a new series, we find Captain Vin Husher, our hero from previous galactic wars. Who had literally saved the human race plus the entire universe, once again finds himself as an outcast despite his heroic actions. The top brass at the admiralty want him out of the way, by giving him assignments that would have little chance of him getting back into the news. But that is never going to happen 😊. I have read and enjoyed all of Scott Bartlett’s Ixan books, and recommended the all to you, with the collaboration with Joshua James we now have a new series to start reading and listening too

Interesting

Much like Star Wars: A New Hope. Readers are thrust into a multi-verse of colorful characters and past events that shape the story but leaves readers with more questions. Evil dopple gangers, not one but three galactic wars, a multitude of alien species, and politics that impede the MC's at most every turn.
