Loved it

Omg I love this story! The book has a really great plot and storyline that moves at a great pace. Out of so many of these reverse harem books I've read I found this series one of the most fun and exciting to read. Fair warning it is a slow burn which was a bit hard to sit through for so long with all the tension. Not much going on until book 3 but the spice was well worth the wait! I find that with most academy/NA series the spice usually falls flat but this author did not disappoint! There is no MM and plenty more spice in book 4 and 5. Book 6 is not yet out on audible so I was disappointed getting to the end of book 5 to realize it wasn't the end of the series and that book 6 is coming out soon. I really hope author decides to add an audio version soon especially before I forget the storyline. While I would have loved if this book had a duet with a male narrator, I thought the FMN did a great job all on her own.

Tension!

The tension just builds and builds and builds and builds builds and builds and builds and builds and builds its so good. Oh my god.

Great book 2!

This is one of my favorite series. The characters are developing page by page, most are slow burn and we're getting glimpses of their individual couple chemistry. The plot twists are yummy. Warning big cliff hanger!

Waiting for the world building…

This series is unquestionably addictive. The character development is superb. I look forward to seeing the FMC continue to grow stronger, particularly after the betrayal she just experienced.

Although I really want to give this a 5-star rating for the characters and storyline, I just can’t, because I have no idea what kind of world they live in. Obviously, I understand the Academy, and I know there is a “Hunger Games”-type hierarchy among the “gifted,” but what ARE they? The alpha/beta/etc references suggest they are wolf shifters, but there’s no hint of that. There is some indication they are controlled by humans, if the “testing lab” references are anything to go by. But how did that happen? Where did they come from? What is the human world like? The absence of world building is probably why this series isn’t more popular. In fact, if it weren’t for the exemplary characters and the unique storyline, I would rate it a 3. I really hope the author corrects this deficiency in the next 4 books.

Lastly, the narration is quite good but would be exceptional in duet.

Crack filled!

Okay so this one took a turn, I was wondering how long they would keep her in the dark. This author does really well writing all of these characters and giving you just enough inside all the heads to get an understanding of them. The times I wanted to rage on Isobel’s behalf, then came a pov scene from the guys that made you rethink everything. But I do wish they’d protect her more or help her understand more of what’s going on to help her help herself if that makes sense. I get they don’t trust her completely, but some of her issues could be avoided. I also don’t love that they know she’s their mate and some of them are I guess like they said hiding it from themselves as well and carrying on with other people. Though that is few and far between, it’s not something I like…I consider that cheating. Though some may not. The story is getting really good…I fully expected Oscar to be the one to slip. He almost did… also I was right about Eve and as soon as I found out she was friends with Aron I knew something was up. I hope they both get torn from limb to limb. On the the next book!

What the hell was that ending?! I knew it but also I didn’t so what a freaking surprise that had me crashing out for a good few minutes. Wild. Love.
