About this listen

He stopped for an accident and stumbles upon the one woman he's been looking for all his life.

To everyone who didn't know her, dependable Taz Parker the towns EMT is strong, capable and confident. Except the fact everything about her job terrifies her, she lives in a small Wyoming town, has five sisters an overprotective father, and no prospects of dating on the horizon, considering the lack of available men in the area. Until one rainy night while transporting a patient to the next town she stumbles upon an accident.

Jerry O'Rourke is only passing through town when he witnesses a roadside accident. When he stops to help at the grisly scene there is only so much he can do and flags down an approaching ambulance. When the pretty EMT stops to help, Jerry encounters a woman he is unable to resist.

Even though he lives in another state, Jerry can't resist seeing Taz just one more time. But what he encounters is an unworldly young woman from a big family. He is unable to resist Taz's beauty and innocence and wonders where she has been all his life. When he sets his sights on Taz, he soon realizes the strong ties Taz has with her family could make having her far more difficult than he could have ever imagined.

The Thrill of the Chase a strong family story.

I really enjoy reading and listening to Lorhainne Eckhart books. I just finished listening to "Thrill of the Chase" which I received a copy of for an honest review. I happen to own the boxed set of the Parker Sisters and I hadn't started reading this ebook boxed set yet, so I very much enjoyed the audible version of the first book in the Parker family series and I loved the voice of Mary Jane Conlon so much that I now wish I had the opportunity to listen to the entire boxed set being read by her. However since that isn't available at this time I will just have to jump right in and start reading book 2 of this very interesting Parker family. It makes me wish I had come from a large tight knit family where the wise and loving mother is the glue holding this family unit together and the father is a strong, honest, and honorable man living to raise and protect his six daughters. I could go on and on about this family dynamic but that would just rob you of finding out just how enjoyable this Parker family promises to be.

Excellent read

Taz and Jerry were incredible. Their chemistry off-the-charts and the family relations make for a great story. I want to read the rest of the series.

Surprised!

As I started this book, and subsequently listened to the audio book, I thought about how an almost 30 year old woman could stand having her parents treat her like she was 16?

This was a fast paced book. Taz met Jerry, and it was basically Insta love. I liked Taz, but I really thought she would have more backbone. Jerry was wrong for not sharing his past. I could not stand Jen. I would like for once in a book, when a man was in a situation like Jerry was with Jen, that he toss her and her clothes out into the hall or out the front door.

After the way Taz's parents behaved at the beginning of the book, her father really surprised me with his response to the situation. Also, the way Taz behaved, she did act more like a teenager than a grown woman.

Jerry and Taz resolved their issues so that they could move on to their HEA. I did expect more depth of characters, a longer relationship, more detail about their lives, and something about her EMT situation both at home and in Denver. This was a sweet, kind of light read/listen. The narration was ok.

A good beginning to the series

This story begins the series of The Parker Sisters. Sisters that are very much sheltered by their parents , especially after the oldest one left years ago with a cowboy.
This one belongs to Taz, an EMT that while on another call, she and her co-worker, come across an accident. There she finds Jerry O’Rourke , an out of towner , who had stopped to help.
The chemistry between them is immediate. They moved at the speed of lightening, and they have bumpy moments, but remember, this is fiction and anything can happen!
An audiobook for an afternoon of leisure, that leaves you wanting to know more about the rest of the girls.

Thrill of the Chase By: Lorhainne Eckhart

I bought the ebook back in September but it is so nice to listen to the story as I follow along on my ebook. This is the first book in the Parker Sisters series. If you want a good story to listen to I would say this is one.

I loved everything about this book!

Thrill of the Chase is the first book in the Parker Sisters series and I loved everything about this story. The narration by Mary Jane Conlon was fantastic and the writing by Lorhainne Eckhart was great.

I'll talk about the narration first. This is my first audiobook performed by Mary Jane Conlon and I loved her voice. I tend to be hard on female narrators as I usually find their voices just not as pleasing to my ear as a male voice. Mary Jane Conlon is one of the three or four exceptions for me so far. Her phasing was perfect, the inflections in her voice match the text and she did a good job of differentiating between all of the character's voices. I'm pleased to learn that she also narrates another one of the books in this series.

Now, I'll talk about the story. I'll say right up front that this is pretty much an insta-love story so if you hate that then this book might not be for you. I don't mind insta-love at all especially since I know a few real-life couples who ended up being married for over 40 years after knowing each other a very short time.

Jerry O'Rourke is a businessman passing through town when he stops to help at a horrible accident he witnessed. Taz is an EMT and she stops her rig, even though she was transporting someone to the hospital, to see if she can help. Neither of them expects to ever see the other again; Jerry lives in another state. When they run into each other later at a diner they both know that they want to see each other again.

There are complications with Taz's family and also some fairly funny scenes where she and Jerry get caught in a compromising position more than once. In what I think of as Lorhainne Eckhart's trademarked style, Thrill of the Chase has all of the close-knit family elements that I've found in her Friessens series. This is a great start to a new series and I'm looking forward to reading/listening to the rest of them.

I won a copy of this audiobook from the author in a giveaway but no review was requested or required. My review is voluntary and not influenced by the author.

Contact

You just know. There's something in that first meeting that's electric, a kind of connection you've never felt before. With that kind of chemistry, you can't go wrong!
Wonderful book, well written and read. Another of Lorhainne Eckhart's "tug at your heart" romances! Enjoy, I really did.

when insecurity makes you gullible.

When starting a new relationship it's foolish to move too fast. in this story the characters didn't take time to get to know each other. Now they need to back up and start again.

Great Read

Thrill of the Chase (The Parker Sisters #1) was a great read by Lorhainne Eckhart. Taz Parker is the towns EMT, and is strong and dependable. Everything about her job terrifies her. She lives in a small Wyoming town and has five sisters and an overprotective father. One rainy night she's transporting a patient to the next town when she stumbles on an accident. Jerry O'Rourke is only passing through town when he witnesses a roadside accident. When Taz stops to help, he realizes that he encounters a woman he is unable to resist. He quickly realizes that her strong ties to her family could make it more difficult to get close to her. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
