Amid the turmoil and the disaster relief, it's up to Joe Gunther and his team to learn what really happened with the two corpses - one missing - and what secret the Governor might have still locked in her brain that links them all.

Enjoyable

The book was enjoyable, and I was glad Tom Taylorson was narrating again but then was immediately disappointed that after 18 books he apparently forgot how to do Joe's voice.

Excellent!

This was one of the better books in the series. Lots of drama and intrigue. Two let-downs were the strange voice of Joe Gunther (sounding like Batman, of all people), and the fact that Gail isn't dead yet. She is like a bee sting on ur behind. Just a terrible character. Pls do away with her in a violent fashion, preferably an explosion or slow-death by poison.

so glad Tom Taylorson is back. Willie and Joe were sounding pretty strange. Tom brings them right back again. Hugely unexpected storyline/ending. Very good read. Thank you.

I have read almost all of the Joe Gunther series.

I am from New York State and spent much time driving around Vermont . It is a comfortable trip down memory lane, with the towns, sights and issues interwoven in good stories.

Good book.

Solid story, nice tying all the loose ends together at the end. Not suspenseful at all.

Omg so tired of Gail. Am I the only one??? Her story line is a bit much. Please this may be the last book I read if she continues

Great to have the right narrator back!

I truly enjoyed this book. I was as unable to get through the 2 previous books due to terrible narrator. It’s so enjoyable to have Tom Taylorson back as narrator.

Great Book in a Great Series... but..

I love, love, love Archer Mayor's, Joe Gunther Novels... Typically, I also love Tom Taylorson as the narrator... so much that I have skipped over the few books that Tom didn't narrate... but... the original voice that Tom gave to Gunther suited. It created what I imagine as an integral part of who Joe's character to be... a little gruff, rugged but when needed also softer, consoling & yet still deeply masculine bringing such charm to this main character in books 1-18... in this book his voice is softer & hard to imagine as the same rock solid Joe Gunther... Tom still has Willy's voice perfect & most of the other main characters too. That being said, this books story line is still Outstanding... It is full of adventure, twists & turns that I highly recommend listening too!!!

this series is getting better and better

i read teh whole series and hope for a new book - characters are real and grow on you - the plots are good and teh narrator is great
