About this listen

For best friends Mike, Max, and Ahmad, the bonds of friendship, love, and respect are put to the ultimate test as each one of them is forced to take a long, hard look at themselves and the women they love. They all said their "I do"s, but did they really understand what it meant?

Mike's a bona fide ladies' man. He's smooth, sexy, and he's got all the right moves. There's just one problem: his wife, Mya. She knew what she was getting into when she slipped his ring on her finger, but she'd always hoped that her love would be enough to quench his desire. But now that she's finally admitted that Mike can never be tamed, who will she turn to for comfort? And how will Mike handle it?

Max is a music mogul in the making, and with the support of his wife, Trina, he's bound to succeed. Of course that all depends on what happens with Sharon, who could write a book and give seminars on what it is to be a true ghetto queen.

Ahmad is a born-again virgin, only he can't figure out why. No matter what he does or says, his wife, Shay, refuses to be intimate with him. But what happens when her decision to confide in him is too late?

Urban soap opera at its best

I liked the story for the most part, though I didn’t care much for the main protagonists of the story. They were all pretty unlikable (with the exception of Ahmad and he made some pretty stupid and questionable decisions). I really really didn’t like Shay. Her holier than thou attitude was too much. I liked Mia until the author turned her into a true snake. Mike was an unredeemable cheat. But in my opinion, nothing was worse than what Max did. Trina, who I liked better than the other two women, forgiving Max was where the story lost any connection with reality for me. What woman forgives her husband for having an ongoing affair with her skanky mother-in their bed in a house she’s paying for?🤷🏽‍♀️
All in all, the story was intriguing and kept my attention. The narration was okay, though I think it would’ve been better with a male narrator.

Good story

Shay was the most annoying character. I can’t stan women like her. Treating a decent man like that. Overall the story was great! Very realistic!

Great Book

FINALLY! It took several attempt to find a book worth buying. I haven't heard a good book with a good narrator and storyline in a long time. The narrator was awesome ! She is a new fav female narrator along with Dianna Luke. The writing was also awesome. Great listen!

Real friends respect boundaries

Mike was a dog and probably will never change, I’m glad Shay stood her ground and made Amaud respect and fight her and there marriage. I refuse to discuss Max but let’s just say Trina definitely got revenge that will cause a lifetime of hurt on mommy dearest 🤣🤣

Good book. Lack luster ending

I enjoyed the book. Very realistic. Shay was my least favorite character, only because it didn’t seem like to me, she took enough responsibility for her actions. She was the one not communicating and had a great man the entire story. He messes up one time, now all their problems fall on him. I also would have liked to know what happened to Mia in the epilogue.

Good listen

Everyday life story. Men really do act like this with having good women. Wish the women were a little more independent instead of dependent on their men

Good book

I like this book, but I do feel as if ALL parties should have forgiven those that did them wrong, but should have kept it moving.Trina forgave Max,but didn’t forgive her pitiful mother..Maybe in another book, she will.I feel as if all parties should have been forgiven and forgotten.

Predictable

Cool read some
Memorable Characters. I was cursing a few characters out like Shay. Couldn’t stand her the entire book. Mike either. Too many instances I knew exactly what was about to happen like phones ringing right on queue multiple times but overall good read.
