Ich erzähle ihnen, dass ich nach einem tragischen Unfall vor drei Jahren Waise geworden bin und nur Glück dazu geführt hat, dass ich an ihre renommierte Schule aufgenommen wurde. Ich sage ihnen, dass ich mich nach meinem Abschluss gerne dem Rest der zivilisierten Gesellschaft anschließe und zulassen werde, dass meine Stärke, mein Antrieb und mein Fokus – was sie Wille nennen – geraubt und der Macht derer über mir hinzugefügt werden. Wie es bereits Millionen getan haben. Wie alle es irgendwann tun müssen.
Ich sage ihnen, dass ich dazugehöre, und sie glauben mir.
Aber die Wahrheit ist, dass ich zur Akademie geschickt wurde, um Antworten zu finden. Um einen Mord aufzuklären. Auf der Suche nach einer alten Waffe. Um Geheimnisse aufzudecken, die die Republik auseinanderreißen könnten.
Und dass ich meinen Willen niemals dem Imperium überlassen werde, das meine Familie hingerichtet hat.
Um zu überleben, muss ich jedoch noch in den Rängen der Akademie aufsteigen. Ich muss lächeln, Freunde finden und so tun, als wäre ich einer von ihnen, um zu gewinnen. Denn wenn ich das nicht kann, dann haben diejenigen, die mich kontrollieren wollen, die meinen richtigen Namen kennen, keine Verwendung mehr für mich.
Und wenn die Hierarchie herausfindet, wer ich wirklich bin, werden sie mich töten
