Publisher's summary

Scorching heat, laugh-out-loud humor, and swoon-worthy moments abound in this sexy stand-alone romance by New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Melissa Foster.

What happens when you’re not looking for love, but it walks in the door?

Madigan Wicked’s heart is not up for grabs. She’s been there, done that, and she’s not going back for seconds. She pours her heart and soul into her family, her puppetry and storytelling performances, and her greeting-card line. But she’s not opposed to having a night of fun, and the gruff, sinfully hot, definitely-not-looking-for-love mysterious stranger she runs into at a bar might be just the right man to enjoy it with.

Ex-con Tobias Riggs has lost enough for one lifetime. The only family member in his corner doesn’t remember him, and the people he thought would always be in his life walked away. He’s just trying to make it through each day, and the last thing he’s looking for is any sort of connection. When chemistry ignites with the snarky, sexy storyteller whose lips he can’t stop thinking about, he gives in to a night of passion.

Though neither is open to love, it’s been known to bully its way into even the most resisting hearts. But can it survive the wicked truth of Tobias’s dark past?

About The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside

Set on the sandy shores of Cape Cod, the Wickeds feature fiercely protective heroes, strong heroines, and unbreakable family bonds. If you think bikers are all the same, you haven’t met the Dark Knights. The Dark Knights are a motorcycle club, not a gang. Their members stick together like family and will stop at nothing to keep their communities safe. These men are wickedly alpha and intensely loyal, but they are not alphaholes.

Tobias and Madigan

"𝙄 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙄 𝙖𝙢. 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚."

The Wicked Truth is the fourth book in The Wickeds: Dark Knights at Bayside series by Melissa Foster which is Tobias and Madigan's story.

Tobias and Madigan meet at the Salty Hog where they originally don't get off on the right foot. No matter what they try, neither can stop thinking about the other. Tobias and Madigan finally give in to the magnetic draw they have to each other while trying to keep their hearts walled off.

Tobias and Madigan are cold, hot and then extremely electric. They start off butting heads and from there they quickly combust and set everything on fire. Both of them have past demons that give them trust issues but they manage to help each other move on and heal from their pasts. Like all other Melissa Foster books, there are also the large meddling families and all their lovable antics.

I love heading into the world of the Dark Knights and can not wait to head back to join the antics of these amazingly wonderful strong families.

Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood were the perfect choices for Tobias and Madigan. They complemented each other perfectly and made me feel like I was part of the story.

Get ready for... small town, strangers to lovers, mc, family saga, found family, grumpy/sunshine romance told in the dual third-person point of view.

Mads and Tobias are fire!

The last thing Madigan Wicked was looking for was love... She's been burned before and she's not willing to get burned again. Her time is occupied with her family, her puppetry, her quirky greeting card line and her storytelling performances. Everything was fine until HE walked into The Salty Hog.

Tobias Riggs is an ex-con who has suffered more loss in his life than one can bear. He lost his whole family but his grandpa, who only remembers him on a good day. He comes to Bayside to be near him and he's ben living a lonely life until he walks into the biker bar. Neither one of them wants a relationship. A fun hookup should get rid of this attraction, right? Well, that's not how feelings work...

Will Tobias's past be the wicked truth Madigan can't take?

I don't know how she does it. I've read more than 100 books by Melissa and every single one of them surprises me in a good way. I had met Mads several times in previous books and I knew her story would be a fun one - what a badass, fun, complex heroine! I also knew that she'd need an equally badass and complex hero and, oh boy!, does Tobias deliver! They're pure fire together! At the same time, I got teary-eyed a few times. cheering for them and for Tobias to find some peace in his heart.

Melissa cranked up the spice a bit in this one and I was so there for the ride! *fans self*

Like always, we get to catch up with beloved characters: the Wickeds are all there, Dixie makes a short appearance and the Dark Knights are there, driving Mads bonkers.

A moving story with lots of all the Melissa goodness we've come to love!

Possible triggers: PTSD, mentions of incarceration, mentions of death of loved ones, estrangement from family member

Narration: Savannah Peachwood is perfect as the feisty and complex Mads aka Blue Eyes and all you need to know is that Jacob Morgan says "Eyes on me"... several times.

Not bad

The narration was amazing. I had a hard time engaging in the story. There are a lot of sexy hot scenes for sure. Just didn't prak my interest 100%

Such real characters!

This is another book by Melissa Foster that makes you feel so much for the main characters that they could be real. Madigan has had her heart broken, feels like an idiot because of it and doesn't want to have a relationship. When Tobias walks into her life, he makes it plain that he is not and never will be the stick around kind of guy. The two are perfect together physically, but anything else is so far out of their sight...until things change. Madigan's family is out to protect her from the ex-con, but they can't protect her heart.

There's plenty of heat as well as heart in this book!

I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood. The narration by both was awesome and the voices were perfect for the characters.

I was gifted this audiobook. All thoughts are my own.

Exciting!

Melissa has written a heck of an emotional story, but I want more! Madigan used puppet therapy to help people and she played and sang stories. Tobias had been in prison for killing a man. They hit it right off after just one look. Then things got all tangled up.
Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood were perfect narrators for this one. They dragged me right into the story with the characters. I loved it.

Love the Wickeds of Bayside

Absolutely love this series and these strong men and women that have hearts of gold. This is about Madigan Wicked and Tobias Riggs. The heat is strong with these two so get ready for a scorching good love story.

Madigan is back home and adjusting to life again with her family. She isn't looking for love but when she meets Tobias Riggs she has other parts of her body besides her heart jumping to attention. He is one hot hunk of a man and on the same page as her as far as relationships go, they aren't looking for one. Just some fun they think, but the love gods have other things in mind for our pair and they have quite the ride getting there.

Jacob Morgan and Savannah Peachwood narrate this wonderful book and they both do a fantastic job of keeping your attention and bringing the characters to life. I loved listening from beginning to end.

Steamy

Audiobook Review: Hello, heat! These two amazing narrators brought it. I could feel the heat in their voices as they told the story of Tobias and Madigan. They took two fictional characters and brought them to life. This book has a ton of heat but as with all of Melissa Foster's books, the friends and family tell the rest of the story. Madigan's brothers made me laugh, only because they were not my brothers. Tobias' family gave me hope for his heart and soul.

eBook Review:Madigan Wicked is a great character. She is living her life, singing her stories, doing her puppet shows, and watching all her friends/family pair off. Tobias is new to town, he is really just passing through, and walks into the bar that Madigan is performing at. After watching her a few times, he tells her she is singing too fast, that she needs to slow down. As most of us would do, she does not take the criticism well and huffs away. Of course, with that criticism comes sparks of attraction,

Tobias just maybe the darkest, toughest, broodiest character that Melissa Foster has ever written. He is punishing himself for his past. Madigan has sworn off relationships and is not a one night stand girl. Fortunately, Tobias cannot stay away from Madigan to start a no strings, no relationship booty call. As expected, feelings develop, attitudes adjust, and the spark turns into a full flame. I really like how understanding Madigan is. She respects Tobias' need to keep to himself, although she is curious. Tobias treats Madigan with respect but is just not able to tell her his truths.

Madigan's protectors make me scream. Being Princess of the Dark Knights comes with extra protection, even if she does not want it. I love that she calls them out on it. She stands up for herself and does not let them get away with walking all over her. Tobias also stands up to her protectors making him the hero that is perfect for Madigan. She deserves someone who would fight for her, stand up for her, and love her completely.

family can be your strength and weakness

Madigan and Toby had an electrifying chemistry between them. Even before they officially meet each other. They have seen each other from across a room many times over several weeks. They have a meeting over a song. Was it too fast? That’s another issue to solve in the story.

Madigan was smart and busy. She had no time for a man. A quick hook up would work but she was not very good at doing that either. Tobias was a man with a past. He was not looking to be seen. He want peace and to just disappear in the crowd of people.

Once these two get their chance fireworks are just the beginning. We see lots of the other past couple. We see much of family and friends. We delve deeper in to what make Madigan work the way she does. She was not a flake just moving place to place.

I love visiting she Wickeds (family and friends).

Jacob and Savannah brings the characters to life and make the story that much more. Love the performances provided by them both. You make a connection to the characters.
