About this listen

A seminal work of Spanish mysticism, Teresa of Avila's The Way of Perfection describes the practices and qualities of a prayerful life devoted to Christ. Although it was written over 500 years ago solely for the nuns of her convent, her devotion continues to instruct and inspire believers today.

St. Teresa's Way of Perfection takes us through praying the Our Father and how it can be used in leading us to experience contemplative prayer.

Excellent! Content easy to understand.

Narrator was superb, pleasant voice and easy to understand. Not a lot of theology or philosophy but practical applications.

Excelent

Where does The Way of Perfection rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm an Argentine reader, I speak Spanish so English is not my mother tongue, nevertheless I was able to understand the narration and every detail of the book, Tavia's reading is absolutely fabulous.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

All the book is very good for the spirit and I would recommend it to people accustomed to read christian- spiritual books.

A Spiritual Classic!

This is a spiritual classic, so no review of St. Teresa is necessary! In terms of the audiobook, this is a very well-done reading. The narrator has an odd way of pronouncing a few words that are repeated a lot. She pronounces "theologian" with 5 syllables and "prayer" with two syllables. After awhile this began to grate on me. My other criticism is that perhaps the narrator should have been an older woman, given the age of St. Teresa when she wrote this work. But overall, this was a very good reading of an excellent spiritual work. Despite my criticism, I would enjoy hearing books read by this narrator again.

Wonderful insights on prayer!

St. Teresa is among the greatest teachers of prayer, and the narrator does an excellent job!

Amazing!

My only regret is not listening to, or reading, this sooner. Simply beautiful. There is so much to take in that I will be listening to this over and again.
