Teresa of Ávila (1515-1582) is one of the most beloved of the Catholic saints. In 1562, during the era of the Spanish Inquisition, Teresa sat down to write an account of the mystical experiences for which she had become famous. Moving account of a life devoted to God

I read a lot of reviews with some concern about the author or about the original book in general. I think for one who has a Catholic background these concerns are valid. But I believe that in the reading/listening of this book nothing of faith is lost. I thoroughly enjoyed it as a entry level into the life of Saint Theresa of Avila. And I want more of her!

The account of this woman's life was remarkable. However, it could have been edited a little. She tended to table and repeat herself. The content was, nonetheless very inspiring. It have me hope that this wretched soul also had a chance to achieve sainthood.
