About this listen
Life is a battle, and we are all soldiers.
We may not wear a uniform, eat in a mess hall, or dodge actual bullets for a living, but we are in a war - a very crucial one. Just walk into any room of people and you'll find immeasurable pain and wounds. On the outside we wear our camouflage well, but on the inside, deep within our own souls, we realize life is conflict. It is traceable to a single source: Satan, the adversary of our souls.
Written by two US Army Green Berets, The Warrior's Soul provides a guide for how to apply the techniques of a true warrior in the spiritual realm by emphasizing five core elements: a cause greater than self - why we fight; a settled memory - the link between history and current circumstances; a personal intensity - eager for challenges and undistracted by personal issues; an unflagging optimism - an absolute commitment to never surrender; a deep camaraderie - a personal commitment to fellow warriors.
True warriors are willing to stand when others bow. With this first-rate preparation for spiritual battle, you can stand strong and see victory.

Story
Men are in crisis. From every direction, they are presented with a deformed masculinity. One that sees women as conquests rather than partners. One that values success at work over success at home. One that presents them as either the bumbling, disconnected dad in sitcoms or the predator in movies and video games (and the news). Men were made for more than this. Through inspiring stories and hard-hitting biblical truths, Stephen Mansfield uncovers the seven fires that ought to burn in a man's soul - the fires of destiny, heritage, friendship, love, battle, legacy, and God.

Story
Masculinity in America has never been under attack the way it is today. We have reached the point where the term itself is considered toxic or offensive to many. American men are conflicted as to what their role is in society. The consistent message that has proliferated in our nation is that masculinity, by nature, is bad and is the root cause of many of the problems plaguing our society. Everything from racism to pedophilia has been blamed on "toxic masculinity".

Men facing difficult challenges in life will relate to chapters on depression, betrayal, when your family is falling apart, living with a bad decision, living with your critics, and when your career is interrupted. Farrar encouragingly illustrates how David depended on God to overcome the same sins and trials - still remaining "a man after God's own heart".

Story
When Winston Churchill was a boy of 16, he already had a vision for his purpose in life. "This country will be subjected somehow to a tremendous invasion...I shall be in command of the defenses of London...it will fall to me to save the Capital, to save the Empire." It was a most unlikely prediction. Perceived as a failure for much of his life, Churchill was the last person anyone would have expected to rise to national prominence as prime minister and influence the fate of the world during World War II.

In the mid-1980s, Dr. Shariat together with his wife, prayed, “Lord, use us to save Iran!” His passion for Muslims stems, in part, because of the murder of his brother, Hamraz, who was arrested in Iran at the age of 16 on a minor political charge. After two years in jail, he was executed by firing squad. God showed Hormoz the best way to respond to this tragedy was to dedicate his life to bring one million Muslims to salvation in Christ. Join Dr. Shariat on a journey out of bondage to Islam to freedom in Christ.

In a fast-paced and action-packed narrative, Navy SEAL commander Rorke Denver tackles the questions that have emerged about America's past decade at war - from what makes a hero to why we fight and what it does to us. Heroes are not always the guys who jump on grenades. Sometimes, they are the snipers who decide to hold their fire, the wounded operators who find fresh ways to contribute, or the wives who keep the families together back home.

Sometimes hard circumstances in life make it difficult for us to be all that God wants us to be. But Tony Evans urges men to stop looking at these things as excuses and instead see them as challenges and opportunities for success. Looking at men of God throughout the Bible such as Moses, Joseph, and David, Evans challenges men to put down our excuses, stop compromising, and fight to be men of commitment and character. Despite setbacks, failures, and pressures, we can still find purpose, meaning, and direction in life and be the men God calls us to be.

There was a time when everyone knew what a real man was. Now, with changing times, values, and roles, many men struggle with what it means to be a "real man" in the 21st century. What does a real man look like? How does he act? What are his values and morals? What role does a real man play in society? The 12 commitments that Chris and Larry share cover the gamut of life, from family, including your spouse and children, work, health, finances, service, and friendships. This little book will cause you to think about what kind of man you are and what kind of man you can become.

To be God's Warrior
I loved this book as the context was easy to understand, being a man who served 20+ years. God used these two men to speak directly to my heart and how we as men should love regardless of reciprocation, regardless of what we feel we will look like if it isn't. To be hard as nails against evil yet gentle and meek with loved ones. Great use of the Bible and all it's wisdom to drive home to my soul the needed areas of my life to improve upon. These 2 men are patriots to this country and the kingdom of heaven. Wether I am ever loved by anyone here on earth I will love unconditionally as Christ. He loves me even when I haven't reciprocated it. Good illustrations and motivation to fight on drawing from within the warrior soul filled with the holy spirit. Definitely will read this one over and over again.

I felt ashamed on what I have done to further Gods glory. I seem to hide my candle under a dark lampshade. At one point in the book it challenged me on what I am doing for God !
I looked around and found 2 things when I was driving. And immediate thing was a pro life billboard sign that was partially covered from the States bush/tree growing in front of it.
