Acerca de esta escucha

The Warrior Moon, the sequel to The Phoenix Empress and striking conclusion to K Arsenault Rivera's wildly buzzed about epic fantasy, which began with The Tiger's Daughter

Barsalayaa Shefali, famed Qorin adventurer, and the spoiled divine warrior empress O-Shizuka have survived fights with demon armies, garnered infamy, and ruled an empire. Raised together since birth, then forced into exile after their wedding and reunited amidst a poisonous invasion, these bold warrior women have faced monumental adventures and catastrophic battles.

As they come closest to fulfilling the prophecy of generations, Shefali and Shizuka will face their greatest test yet.

"The Phoenix Empress expands and deepens the mysteries of this intricate and fully-realized fantasy world. I'm riveted by this story and can't wait for the next volume." (Martha Wells, author of the Murderbot Diaries series)

"Rich, expansive, and grounded in human truth...simply exquisite.” (V. E. Schwab, New York Times best-selling author of the Shades of Magic series)

What a fantastic end to a fantastic trilogy!

I legit was crying by the end.

This series was so breathtakingly unique in its execution. To say nothing of the actually fantastic LGBT representation. (The fact alone that there were trans people here and there and woven throughout the society as a whole of this world, and that they weren’t treated as tragic figures is fantastic all by itself)

This is one of the best and heartwarming series I’ve ever read, and I hope that it’s author will cook up something new soon!

Fantasy needs more stories like this

This book, like the last two, had beautiful prose and imagery, compelling characters, a vivid setting. There's two or three good books in this book and it feels muddled and smushed together. It's still worth a read and the credit but I wish it were split and paced differently. Maybe it's just my taste but there definitely could have been less drawn out fight scenes, all of which reminded me of the Demon Hunter anime for some reason. And maybe a little less introspection. This writing style/pacing just works better for me when there's less high stakes horror and action. Although I will say after finishing this book I feel as if I know these characters as well as I know my family haha

Worth it but...

Book 1 was good.Book 2 was alright.Book 3 has too much introspection . The transitions to different timeline is horrible. The two main characters are literally their own biggest enemy. 22hour book could have been told in 10hr and be better for it.

Story was drag out too long
